Oh yeah.

But doesn't the book have characters that don't appear in the show? If that's the case, then I still wouldn't any of their related stuff spoiled. (I'm on a book 2 hiatus.)

Yes the books do have characters that haven’t appeared in the show, but at this point I very much doubt they’re going to introduce many (if any) new, major characters in season 8, certainly not ones that have been omitted from the move from book to TV anyway.

Mind me asking why the hiatus on book 2 anyway? Waiting till the show has ended or just not enjoying it that much? Fair enough that you don’t want any of the books spoilt, maybe business as usual spoiler tagging any that could be seen as a spoiler then)

Life and work got in the way and then, when I got back to reading regularly again, I started on other stuff. Will get back to it when done with current book.

My worry about opening up book discussion is that someone may feel free to mention something they deem acceptable to talk about which is still spoilery for those who are reading the books for the first time. To be honest I'm not in this thread often enough for it to be an issue for me, so I really wouldn't mind if the book was discussed in here.

It’s understandable, I found I had to be in a certain frame of mind to read ASOIAF, I found that if I just read a chapter because I felt I should do I often went back and re-read said chapter anyway. The 5 books probably took me about a year in total to read, often in intense bursts and then a few weeks of nothing. Since I’ve finished them I’ve actually had very little interest in reading in general, no idea if I burnt myself out on them or if I’m worried deep down nothing will be quite as good (obviously I’ve read books but only a few autobiographies, graphic novels etc, nothing too intense) as it. Still its an amazing series of books that I would hate to spoil for anyone who hasn’t read them yet, consider my lips sealed on the matter, except in a spoiler line/box!

There is quite a good Dragon kill in the books where a guy pretty much gets himself killed by trying to tame them.

I just remember his last words are something like "Oh dear me!" as he's about to get destroyed as he just sounded so posh in my head :slol: .
It was a bit like having Rees Mog (sp?) style posh trying to become the king of dragons and just completely failing  .

True but he did have the flashforward that showed Sam being the one who kills the Night King.

Sure I saw about 58 mins or something? Whether that was an official runtime or just a guess I don’t know.

On the TV guide it’s on from 2am to 3.05am, but that’ll obviously include adverts. I guess it’s 50-55 minutes.

Of all the meetings I thought of, Bran and Jaimie didn’t cross my mind.

Good episode, sets things up nicely for what’s to come.

It’s broadcast at the same time as America and available on demand after that (on NowTV anyway).

The thread is US pace but I thought I’d better spoiler it. Not even that works.

At least I didn’t say that Jon Snow is revealed as Cersei’s son.
