Jaime will always be drawn back to his love for Ceresi. So I can understand why he did it.

When someone threats to kill the love of your life, Jaime did what's right for her, nothing else matters.

After all that's one of the reasons Jon stabbed the mad queen. The threat is there for her to kill Jon's sisters, and lay waste on North as they WILL not bend the knee to outsiders anymore.

Folks are taking this show far too seriously with their theories even after it ended.

I’ve just read one about Drogan taking Danery’s dead body to a red witch that was seen in series 7 to be brought back to life. :shifty:

Cersei was also obviously the best option to rule the world as she was just so lovable and cuddly and was only a cruel bitch to a few people overall so a great choice.
If you had to loo at her positives and negatives she'd be well ahead.

Positives

She's not Bran
She loves her children.
Is quite good in the sack.
Knows how to stand about regally and look imposing.
Has great bouncebackability as shown by not letting the walk of shame get her down for long.
Didn't go completely mental.
Has good judgement in choosing people to rule the city as not once did they mention the trains not working so it must have been flawless.
Is quite cool under preasure and only starts crying moments before death so that's good to know.
Hasn't given birth to dragons that could destroy all life.

Negatives

She's a psychotic bitch who let her mate change someone into an unstoppable killing machine and then just had him stand about trying to outdo Bran in the idleness stakes.
She has hanky panky with her brother which some may have a problem with and may harm her political career going forward.
She put her entire navy into port so that it couldn't manoeuvre thus getting it sunk by a dragon which was quite a poor decision.
She's apathetic at best to the death of the people in her city which again some may be less than pleased by.
She's on par with Theresa May at negotiating.

Overall a pretty good candidate for Queen of the world and I'd struggle to see anyone else get such a positive review.

Seen one that suggests she's just been stabbed in the heart with dragonglass so will turn into a Night Queen. Can't wait to see what next season holds.

During the last episode I really enjoy the soundtrack including the sad version of the main theme.

I have no problem with how GOT ended storyline wise. I just wish it had been told over another 20 episodes.

This reminded me: what the strawberry float happened to Mereen? Surely with Dany dead and her dragon now wild, the Masters/Harpies would just swoop in and take the place over again?

I always thought it would have been apt for Book Dany to never actually get to Westeros and have to give up her dream for the throne, settling instead of uniting and liberating Essos (which was basically her goal for across the sea). As we saw in Season 8, Essos was more her home and more welcoming to her, and she was basically an imposter anywhere else

Part of this idea was also GRRM's writing speed making it feel like she'd beve get anywhere close to the Seven Kingdoms.

I can't remember if Book Dany is as single-minded as Show Dany. I wouldn't be surprised if the intention is still to have her end up as the Mad Queen on the page too.

Yep. Like I said last page, it would have been super fitting for Dany to stay in Mereen and save the survivors of Westeros after the Others/White Walkers decimate it.

It does sound like Dany will end up in Westeros in the books though. GRRM has always cited character wrangling as one of the main reasons he's struggled with the later books and made heavy hints that he didn't know how to get Dany to Westeros.

Her descent into madness could've been handled better if she declared herself Empress of Essos and Westeros and melted the Iron Throne herself.
