Top tip for anyone without Sky, relying on links, or who might just prefer to watch in HD:

The Now TV pass is free for two weeks if you're not an existing or previous Sky customer (accounts are linked to email addresses, I think). Once your two free weeks are up, if you go online, into your account and your passes, and start the cancellation procedure, it'll ask your reason for cancelling. If you say you can't afford it, it will (eventually) offer you a discount of £3.49 a month for four months - meaning you can get the rest of the season for less than seven quid.

It's still not free, but it might be better than relying on the high seas for some.

I'm starting to think Dany made a serious mistake returning to Dragonstone as Euron's fleet could quite easily trap her there by sinking or stealing her ships.

I think he should have have challened Euron to a duel and say somthing like are you afraid you can't beat a guy without a cock? And then he might give yara to his men and then he would just have to beat him.

He's mentally damaged in a PTSD kind of way. That would require metaphorical balls that he no longer has.

I'm unsure how he could have done much else and not been completely flattened.
Theon has been mentally butchered and any fighting ability he had is now essentially gone so any actual fight with Euron would have been pointless and he's hardly likely to be able to bluff Euron into thinking he can somehow win.
Pretty much his only other option would be to surrender and beg for his sisters life and that's not going to work as Euron strawberry floating loves being a crazy bastard and doing crazy gooseberry fool so I doubt being merciful is top of his bucket list.

The more I think about it the more his actions seem like his only sane choice that doesn't result in immediate death at best for both of them and at worst being turned into Reek again but maybe seeing that also happen to his sister.

He didn't do it because it was the sane choice though. He didn't do it because it might save his sister. The opposite. He deserted her in a cowardly fashion. He found courage for Sansa but that was while Ramsay was in a battle. Now when it came to it - he shrank away from conflict. Reverting to the snivelling creature that Ramsay uncovered within him.
Euron's presentation obviously provided a stark reminder (pun intended) of what happens when Theon comes up against an utter maniac.

I just hope they don't kill Euron off for a while - he could be amazing.

I didn't say he made a tactical choice just that his options at the time were pretty much zero.
I can see why someone who'd been through what that character has decided to run away and aren't as critical as some people. It's not the best thing to do but eventually everyone can be broken and Reek was all about him never being able to stand up for himself or others and at that moment the memory of that time overwhelmed him.
He should never have been put in that situation as his actions were always a possibility.

I can't see them killing Euron as he's the sort of madman who makes for great plot twists as he just blunders about being bonkers and killing with wild abandon.

I decided to give GOT another look after losing interest come the end of season 2. Watched a couple of episodes of S3 last night. Can't say I was put off by what I watched, quite enjoyed it in fact, so will see how it goes.

I'm somehow coming to the conclusion that I want the Whitewalkers to win and maybe wipe everyone out so we can get a following series where they have to set-up a nice Whitewalker society just to see what system of government they choose.
Will they go with democracy and voting with PR and limited spending on campaigning or will they go with some form of Communism. What will the education system be like and will it be fully funded?

This does mean slightly less action and a lot less character murder though.

The White walkers version of Jeremy Corbyn in power, with a manifesto of ice cream for everybody, a long winter, and walls are outlawed.

Well, understandable. Unelected leaders in Essos, stealing all our coin. It's all about immigration. Dothraki don't integrate and they kill our children. Out means out!

And cut ourselves off from the Iron Bank, the world's biggest economy? Geniuses. They'll be after a hard border with Dorne too.

"The north is sending their wildlings, and theyre not good people, theyre savages, theyre rapists, theyre dragon glass dealers. Some are probably ok, but most of them are bad, so we're going to build a great ice wall. Believe me folks, believe it. And the wildlings are going to pay for that wall, believe me. It will be tremendous, this wall, really tremendous, the greatest wall in all of westeros and the wildlings will pay. Believe me."

Yes but it's the southern kingdoms that are paying for it! I'm sick of them, let them have their damn independence if that's what they really want.

Look, we'll be fine if everyone could just get behind Cersei and be a bit more patriotic. She crushed the saboteurs but somehow lost her majority in the seven kingdoms but she's carrying on to provide strong and stable leadership in Westeros' interest

The important thing is having a hard border between the Westeros owned land in Pentos and the rest of the continent. If that border is open then the Seven Kingdoms will struggle to enforce immigration and customs targets.

Please don't bring that gooseberry fool in here. We have enough soapbox gooseberry fool from Moggy et al in the actual political thread.
Although Theresa May after the election did make me think of Melisandre. After she takes that necklace off.

Yeah let's get back to Denny posting book spoilers and dishing out details of upcoming episodes.

This is not a thread to have any fun in. :x
