Yeah Bronn's in particular is getting really boring and I was rolling my eyes at it towards the end.

Love the pace this season is moving at.

Surely they can just use Brandon like a global spy satellite system and work out where everyone is and always be behind them or attack the places that are lightly defended.
It's just a pity they can't hook some kind of screen up to his brain and just make him into Skynet.

I don't think Bronn has plot armour as I don't see his death affecting the story at all at this point. It's more 'everyone likes this guy' armour, a subtle difference.

Jaime definitely has plot armour though, at least until he has (speculative but obvious spoilers) some form of confrontation with Cersei/brutally murders her.

I was really conflicted at the end. I mean I wanted Danny and the dragons to win but I love Bronn and don't want him on losing side. Here's hoping he reunites with his BFF Tyrian and switches side!

Bronn survives the Dothraki hoard, avoids all dragon fire while running to a super weapon. He then fires an arrow at a dragon, jumps out of the way of the flames just as the super weapon is destroyed. He grabs a horse and then rides towards the pissed off injured dragon and manages to jump in front of the flames with perfect timing to save his mate.

Yeah, no plot armour. ;)

Prepare for the poop based bombing campaign.

I guess it depends on what they get to eat, Melisandre probably tastes like an old ladies bedroom, could be biological warfare?

btw how strawberry floating deep was that water at the end? They fell into what appeared to be the Westeros equivalent of the Mariana Trench right next to the shore of the river.

But the point is it's not plot armor - as SawyerP explains he's not kept around because he's important to the ongoing plot/story. He's not a key protagonist. Like say Jaime/Dany are.

He could die without any serious repercussions - but he's a well liked secondary/tertiary character.

So it's not plot armor.

It might be a character shield or a "fan favorite armor" :)

Does Bronn have anything more to contribute to the plot though? I can't think of any outstanding story threads relating to him.

I'm just arguing semantics here really as I agree it was a bit ridiculous that he survived all that.

So, from the top
He's a commander so he's not in the line when the Dothraki hit. Their aim and the is
If the dragon fire is not to target individuals but to destroy the shield wall and then rout them. The dragon concentrates its fire on this and then starts to attack threats to
Itself - archers and then Bronn.
Bronn is an experienced fighter and picks his way through the chaos to try and reach the weapon. He is actually bested by the Dothraki rider and is fleeing from him but manages to trick him.

He then only survives Drogon's first attack because he scores a hit. A then more cautious and moving less freely Drogon buys him time to move. Also at that point Dany and Drogon's target isn't Bronn but us the weapon (the only one that can harm them).

At this point the battle is over and his last act of heroism is against a stationary dragon that is wounded and distracted.

Plot armour is such a bullshit phrase - but yes we know some characters are spared.

If Bronn had been in the shield wall and was the only survivor or singlehandedly charged the Dothraki - fair enough but that isn't what happened. The way some of you pick this to bits is ludicrous. Even the fun and awesome sparring scene. :fp: :fp:
Either way both his and Jsime's plot armour
has left them captured and at the mercy of Dany.

Are they captured though? Haven't seen the trailer for next week's episode but I'm half expecting Euron to pop up in a submarine and rescue them given how things have gone so far.

I can't work out why they fell into (was it a lake? a river? a puddle?)

They could I suppose be washed down stream - but given Jaime looked to be sinking due to heavy armor, i can't see him being carried far.

So he's a best stationary in the middle of a field conqured by Dany.

It also makes narrative sense at this point for him to be captured - he and Tyrion are due a talk.

Maybe Daenerys orders the dragon to save them both and fishes them out of the water as both hostages and because she knows he's Tyrion's brother.
She can then show how she's different (as John talked about) by treating them with respect and giving them at least half decent living quarters.
