"Britain's BIGGEST games magazine"
Ego-centric much, GAME?

I've hardly been in GAME over the last few years. I think I was at the Merry Hill one late last year where I'd got the Nintendo Monopoly. Another time up at Stoke early during my university years I'd gone up to the Hanley store to buy some TCG stuff. Felt a bit awkward just having the one thing so bought a pre-owned Spyro game on DS. Service good, game terrible. Played it once and never again.
Also I think my New 3DS and Monster Hunter bundle was with them as well - ordered online and arrived no problem.
Still think they need to work on how they arrange stuff. And the prices.

A game coming out on a Wednesday is weird, wonder if they were bullshitting. I remember when I went in to buy the PC version of Titanfall 1 with some store credit and they claimed it wasn't out that day (it absolutely was)

It’s not a freebie, Richard puts a Union Flag in every picture he takes.

Is this GAME's attempt at being what Game Informer is for GameStop in the US?

I'd like to give an announces.
Gamestation will returned as a retro game store, so coming on down to you're local town centre and joining the fun of the opened day.

Am I doing it right, GAME?

I won't lie, if I need new controller/hardware Game is ideal considering if it didn't work I can just return to Game and swap it out easier than online wise.

Games on other hand, I usually would go in for quick look and leave without buying anything because I can't really justify spending money on game that I could get cheaper online

I went into my local Game yesterday and they've reduced their opening times now, they used to open at 9am in the week and 10am on Sunday but they now open an hour later.

Guess business isn't the great as they haven't got much stock in at all :(

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of their stores were doing the same, cuts down on staff hours after all.
The only ones that will escape it for now are likely to be their bigger stores with those Game Arena things.

Further job cuts at GAME as UK boxed game sales fall 8%

There have been further job losses at GAME's Head Office as the firm continues to cut back in the face of a difficult UK retail landscape.

The firm has been reorganising its internal teams to cope with a drop in physical retail sales and a reduction in store count. Meanwhile, it has increased focus on its esports business - particularly related to Belong, its new retail initiative where gamers can pay to play PC games on high powered hardware.

It's been a quiet year for games sales in the UK. Even after the release of Spider-Man last week, physical game unit sales are down 8.2% year-to-date with revenue down 6% (GfK figures). GAME has slightly lowered its full year estimates as a result by £3 million.

The latest round of redundancies have been on a small scale, and follows the departure of chief marketing officer Natalie Amosu and commercial director David Rimmer.

Although always a crucial period of the year, the Q4 sales window will prove even more important in determining the overall market performance in the UK. Alongside the big annual releases, including FIFA, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and EA's shooter (this year Battlefield V), this Q4 will also see the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout 76. Fallout is extremely popular among UK consumers, regularly selling in excess of one million copies, while Rockstar's last title, GTA V, is the most successful boxed game in UK retail history.

Despite declines in the UK, GAME has reported a increase in sales for its Spanish retail business.

The firm's focus, however, remains with Belong, which now exists in 20 locations and will soon be added to Sports Direct outlets, too. The company expects to have 100 Belong arenas in three years.

Setting them up for failure if anyone is expecting Fallout 76 to sell as well as the main series

It's pretty sad to see the gradual decline of GAME but I rarely wander into their stores now and hardly ever buy anything. When it comes down to it, they can't compete on price nor - judging by my past few visits - range. The move to digital purchasing is becoming increasingly rapid and that isn't gonna cease. Perhaps their new Belong initiative will take off; it doesn't appeal to me personally but maybe it will become their main focus in time.

When I finished work in Glasgow I'd do quick stop to Game and I cannot justify spending money on games there, even if I do actually have money that I can spend. I just think "Nah, I can just order this on Amazon..." and walk out.

Hardware on other hand is decent, as said before
