With burnout I think 2 is the best then 3 then Revenge then the original then paradise.... Paradise just doesn't feel like burnout to me, it feels more like a game of its own.

On the other hand, I think that's what the series really needed to freshen it up. I loved exploring the game world finding all the jumps, gates etc as it gives the player some alternative things to focus on instead of relentlessly grinding events.

All the Ratchet and Clank's on PS2 after the first; Jak 3 after 2.

I'm not sure why I didn't bother with R&C until they reappeared on PS3. Probably a case of too much other stuff to play at the time. From 2003 onwards I also had an Xbox, and then from 2004 a GameCube.

The Ratchet & Clank sequels (2&3) are excellent, I’d really try to source the PS3 collection they did if you can. Ignore Gladiator.

I think I have a bit of this. And/or I feel like I've really enjoyed the game but that chapter is now done.

Games I've only played the first one of:
Metroid Prime
Bioshock
Dead Space
Dead Rising
Pikmin
Luigi's Mansion
Mass Effect
Left 4 Dead
Condemned
Lost Planet
Super Monkey Ball
Advance Wars

Burnout 3 and Revenge were the best ones though.

They were fine. I just found them a bit forgettable. I know Burnout 2 appeals in part because I was really good at it. I also love the soundtrack. I wasn't as good at Paradise but absolutely loved it. I'm not a huge driving game fan but these two games will always stand out as being top tier for me.

For sure, that's a good way of putting it.

Do either of you ever / often replay games?

On higher difficulty levels, yes.

If it's remade / released on a new system.

But other than Metroid Prime, once I feel done with a game Ive never just replayed one for the enjoyment of it.

I'm a bit like this with Monster Hunter games. I loved Monster Hunter Freedom 1 & 2 and absolute adored Unite to the point where I ignored the Wii game and MH4. It took a lot to get me to play MH4U on 3DS but that then got it's claws in to me and I probably like that one about as much as MHFU. Since then though I've bought both the Switch entries but barely played either of them or Monster Hunter World.

Tooie is poor but MM! Best sequel to a game I've ever played...

Do you mean "got" as in tried it and didnt get on with it or "got" as in never bothered with it? If its the later then give it a whirl, its a lovely game, very different obviously but I ended up really loving the changes it made and would love to see a new one.

For me I loved Dragon Age but havent played the sequels, the reviews for 2 were just awful.

I played so much Fallout 3 but never got hyped for 4 and when I did play it I fell off it so hard.

Pokemon, played them all up until Ruby/Sapphire but the HM gooseberry fool got way too annoying, tried Sun but never clicked with me so I think Im just done with Pokemon. I may give Arceus a go though, looks different enough to pique my interest at least.

Super Smash Bros love the first one, like the next 2, everything after that is just blegh.

3 and Revenge had amazing soundtracks, discovered a lot of great tracks i didn't know thanks to those games.

One enduring favourite is Heard That Sound by MXPX (which was featured in Burnout Revenge).

Oh they weren't bad soundtracks by any means, I loved Paradise soundtrack for instance. What I like about Burnout 2's soundtrack was it was made specifically for the game and some of the tracks rank up there with the Outrun themes for me.

Although it's got more common in the last 12 months, I still don't really play most games anywhere near release. Sometimes, I think I subconsciously hold back some stuff I'm really looking forward to, but I also like to give myself time between games in a series, to avoid burning out. I can't think of much I can say I definitely have missed, but stuff that took me/is still taking me ages to get around to:

Peronsa 5. I loved Persona 4 Golden so much. I'm not really a JRPG person at all, but two games stick out to me that bucked the trend. The first was the original Kingdom Hearts, and the other was P4G. Not only did I want to play them through to the end, but I wanted to do everything in them. That's another thing I very rarely do. It's been over 8 years since I played P4G, and I think one reason for not yet playing P5 is that in between I went back and tried the first two Persona games. I knew they were very different to 4, but I tried them anyway. Didn't get very far in either, and it probably played a part in why P5 has not yet been started. I've told myself this year it's getting played though.

Metal Gear Solid V. MGS under Kojima is potentially my favourite series of all time. It's another that bucked my gaming trends in that I don't usually replay games at all, but the first 3 got completed multiple times, going for all the collectible things to unlock gadgets like the stealth the camo. Metal Gear Solid 4 was much less enjoyable for me in terms of game play, although was kind of satisfying from a story perspective, which was a big part of why I liked the series. So I didn't play MGSV until last year, but when I did, I loved it. It's now my favourite game in the whole series, and I put almost 230 hours into it according to that Playstation Wrap thing they do at the end of the year.

Maybe I just have a thing about avoiding games with a 5 in the title....
