Games you own that you have then realized are worth more than you thought.

I just stopped off at CeX and saw Alien Resurrection on PS1 going for £75. I had absolutely no idea that game was worth more then most of my more valuable GameCube games, for example.



Boxed with manual and barely a few marks on the disc, £50 voucher is pretty good. It's a mixed/mediocre game although I found the lighting and graphics quite impressive - apparently it was in development hell for years, changed in-game perspectives 3 times, and wasn't released until 2000, 3 years after the associated film.

If I could 1:1 swap for Tears of the Kingdom that'll probably be good, as I bought that as a gift for someone else so they kept it.

Alien Resurrection was worth more like £10 till not long ago, basically it was found out there's an exploit built into the game that lets you bypass the Playstations security and run pirate discs and stuff on a normal unmodified Playstations and this has had the knock on effect of raising its value.

And yet i'm guessing my Wii copy of Lego Batman is still worth nothing.

I bought a copy of that specifically for modding the wii side of my Wii U, and it only cost something like £5.
