I am on Twitter or X as its now called and sometimes people show pictures of various CEX displays and you can see what they have and what they are charging, on top of this the misses is on Facebook and a local indy games shop posts up pictures of stuff they have gotten recently and how much they want for it.... due to the two of these I have learned a few games that I have laying around that I didnt think were particularly worth much are worth a fair degree more than I thought...#

for example I have Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast for the original Xbox and Always thought it was maybe worth £15.... Apparently CEX sell it for £80 (The PS2 and PSP version are like £12 and £10 or so)

I dont have a lot of Game Gear games, my collection is very small, one of the smallest I have, I have a bunch of loose carts in a little tin and one of them is called CJ Elephant, I rather enjoyed playing it but presumed it was just your typical like maybe £10 kind of cart and yet there it was on a CEX shelf as a loose cart for £75

A lot of things I tend to have a rough idea of what they are worth but its kind of refreshing and fun to get taken by surprise like this.

To be fair with CEX trade in prices those are worth £15 and £10 to you...

I have a mint condition 3D Dot Game Heroes somewhere in my parents house. I should really dig that out.

Surprisingly I found out they would give you £43 cash for CJ the Elephent which although about £40 more than I paid for it I think ill just hang on to it , specially seeing as the rest of my collection put togther on Game Gear would be lucky to net £43 from CEX ....actgually one day I might look up what its all collectively worth as in there selling price and what theyd give me.... I was in a CEX a week ago and a lad traded a handful of PS3 games in and got like £1.20 on a credit note, if my stuff was that low bar and I wanted rid due to room or something I would throw it in a bin and save myself the bus journey hassle (joking aside I would probably get my misses to list it on facebook market free to a good home, I am not keen on binning any games.

Fantastic game it is as well

I am never surprised when awesome games become worth a lot but some rubbish ends up worth loads as well... supply and demand I suppose but you think who would pay like hundreds for a rubbish game (completionists who want whole sets I guess)

I find it amazing just how high some of the prices are for old games these days.

Some of my old Gamecube games fetch ridiculous amounts now (such as Chibi Robo).

My friend gave me his MiB (and it really is mint) copy of Terranigma on the Snes. Obviously I would never sell it, but I assume it has continued to climb in value.

I know that one is valuable so not in the spirit of the question.

It surprised me to see how much Warioware Twisted on GBA was worth a few years ago. Again, boxed and in very good condition.

Persona 3: FES worth £95 now. Sadly I've only got the disc now. Bought it a long time ago pre-owned for maybe £15 - can't quite remember. Probably would have parted with it as it's not a great version of the game as it runs slower than its NTSC counterpart and is PAL unoptimised in all the other ways too.

Mint in box copy of Mario Baseball (EU) on the Gamecube. Got it for Christmas one year and apparantly it's worth a lot now.

Any of my later era N64 game carts seem to be worth a bit. Games like Banjo Tooie or Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Gamecube games also seem to be worth a bit for some reason. Games like Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes. Though I suppose that's the definitive MGS1 experience so that makes some sense.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Oh man, yeah. I had wanted to get that - not because of value, but to try it - but I dallied around and missed it.

Those of you with loads of interesting niche physical stuff should consider creating accounts on Instagram (yes I'm serious) and posting videos of your stuff. Might be an easy way to make a little bit of ad money?

EDIT: this is a fairly extreme example (Unless some of you really do have this impressive a collection!) but see below:

Only games I have that are worth a bit are some of the GameCube title. Fire Emblem, Skies of Arcadia, Mario Baseball are going for £100+.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I used to post a lot on Instagram but I get videos and pictures reported and removed with very little reason, I think someone on there has a vendetta against me so I kind of stopped bothering.

I've got some pretty valuable megadrive and mega CD games by the looks of it. A couple of them go for about £200 each in the right auction, but that means dealing with eBay :dread:
