4K! :fp:

In all seriousness anyone making any resolutions for gaming in 2021?

My big one is to ignore Nintendo. I'm sick of breaking joycons and the ACNH save corruptions. And they wouldn't give me a bloody refund either. Blood from a stone etc.

I'm also going to make a big effort to get through my PlayStation backlog which has been building since I sold my PS2 to my brother so I could buy a GameCube for Uni.

1920 x 1080 bhaybeeee!

Also, but fewer games that I'm not going to play, and actually get through more of the classics in my current library that I've barely touched.

Play more of my backlog.

Tough, though, when I look at a game I wanted for ages, got, and lost interest in before I got around to it when something else came out. That guilty feeling.

To try and play more; the past few years I’ve been more TV and Film orientated. The past 15 days I’ve completed Donut County, GRIS, Hitman Go, Lara Croft Go, Spider-man [PS4] and Super Lucky’s Tale and I’ve had a blast. I’m keen to pick up a Series X for the multi-generational BC.

&

Pick up a CRT, I don’t have much space so I’ll be trying to get a set that’s thin as possible, looking through some of your gaming setups I’m well jel, some amazing setups. I haven’t played my N64 for years now :|

Try not to buy games for the sake of it because I have some that are still sealed and need just to play/complete my backlog

I'd like to clear a few GameCube games off my backlog. I buy very few current gen games so theoretically this shouldn't be a problem.

I'd also like to add a few more good condition CIBs to my N64 collection.

Stop buying random bundles because they are cheap and ending up abandoning them, as well as just increasing saturation of genres I have already got a big backlog of. I've made steam folders just to show future me who might go "oh that racing or historical/modern war game is cheap" that I in fact have many like that already which are not massively different in terms of the experience, so maybe cool it on just buying more to feel better.

Start playing through the backlog. Starting at PC stuff.

Get a Series X as well :toot:

The best way to clear my backlog would be to stop my PS+ subscription. Except the vast majority of my subscription would then be unavailable to me.

I want to:

> Stop pre-ordering games (I made very good progress on this in 2020, to be fair)
> Cut back on buying games (again, I started to do this last year)
> Play and enjoy more of the games that I already have
> See the Amico arrive and be fun to use :-)

To keep whittling through my backlog; and, perhaps, start The Witcher 3 which I bought when I first got my PS4!

Not buying games. I've got gamepass for the next 2 years and so there is no sensible reason to buy other titles. So, Marvel's Avengers could be my last game purchase for a while.

Seeing as I've fallen back down the rabbithole this week, I'm finally going to finish the main questline in Skyrim! I must have put over 300 hours into this game over four or five different characters, and I've never bothered with the actual story.

I did this with a new character and just did the main quests so they were all stupidly scaled. Glad I did but yeah it's not the best part of the game by a long shot!

I don't think ignoring Nintendo will be particularly difficult considering they do a pretty good job of ignoring fans.

There's an outside shot at BotW 2 I suppose but other than that I expect another year of heavily relying on the WiiUs catalogue and ports.
