Thanks, episode 2 was slightly better in terms of pacing at least. I'm gonna wade through it a bit longer just to enjoy the pretty stellar action sequences.

It is, as I used to do his website I got sent DVDs full of artwork, full storyboards and clips from stuff. Sad thing is though the more successful they become frankly the less time they have for anyone besides work and family. I fired myself to focus on uni work

I've been thinking about getting in touch again as I could do runs of t-shirts or awards ceremony stuff etc but it's kind of hard and feels like poking your head in the door. I used to get invited to extras shoots for various stuff but eventually that kinda stopped happening. I got in touch about work experience in film or sound production a couple, of years ago but basically said he's only looking for proven and well established talent now and just doesn't have time to draft anyone in for stuff as a favour, which was at least honest. Nowadays it's the various agents who deal with all of that at big production customers who just hire and pay the directors as contractors.

But since I'm not looking to do that sort of thing anymore, might be worth getting in touch to make stuff in other ways. Those kinds of contacts are useful but it's also a pretty high bar to invariably compare yourself to, as he's about 10 years older it's like, "what has this person achieved in this part of their life" etc and it's like

It's tough though, I've seen loads of stuff fall apart over the years, the most well known one probably being the reboot of THe Crow which was actually based on the comics and in partnership with the author whereas the original film diverged a lot from the source material, but a vocal minority of hardcore fans never wants it remade because the lead actor died during filming. Eventually it had the guy who played the Khal in Game of Thrones bouncing around on his Instagram/Twitter and they became friends but that fell apart because of some production hell bollocks, must have been heartbreaking for him as he was a massive fan of the original film and was basically a dream project.

Been watching season 2, after really enjoying the first, this is a bitter dissapointment.
