It's also just been announced within the last hour that Piers Morgan has got back into bed with the devil and joined News Corp and FOX, with a new weeknight TV show in the UK, US, and Australia (sounds like it might be a simulcast for FOX News, talkTV and Sky News Australia); weekly columns in both The Sun and New York Post; and a book deal with Harper Collins.
Is it me or does it look like he's photoshopped his head onto someone else.
Apparently Morgan's new show won't air on FOX News itself in America but rather on something called FOX Nation.
While being critical of antivax/lockdown fruitcakes on one hand, he's quite happy to saddle up alongside those peddling that rubbish on Sky News Australia and FOX News if it pays well. Hilariously, FOX has a clear vaccination and testing mandate in place for its employees and buildings. One message for TV viewers, quite another in reality.
I utterly despise Murdoch with a passion. Completely hate the man. I won't even call it irrational. He shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of any company, let alone a media network.
However, I think his TalkTV will absolutely kill GB News. He already has a ton of big names signed up. I can see a simulcast of Julia Hartley Brewer and Mike Graham on a morning for example. Now they have Jeremy Kyle and Piers Morgan, the housewives favourites apparently.
So Andrew Neil appeared on Question Time, and I'm sure he has an NDA against him, but he seemed pretty clear that Gbeebies wanted to go the hard right Fox News style, and he didn't want to be part of it.
I can see a bit of hypocrisy there, he has allowed what most would consider to be far right columnists in The Spectator. He has also appeared only on Farage's show since his departure. However, if a channel is too far right for Andrew Neil, and he, kind of, openly speaks about it, I think we can all safely assume the future direction of Gbeebies.
