Even the music feels Alan Partridge-esque.

That Twitter page has had some howlers on

I’ve no idea who owns/runs GB News or why it was even created (as far as I’m aware, it seems to have come out of nowhere over the last couple of days?) but it’s in a laughable state at the moment and I love it (not watched any mind, just seen what that Twitter pages tweets about!) for it

It was announced ages ago, only just launched recently. I assume it's some sort of money laundering operation or tax relief thing or rich right wing backers chucking money around to alleviate their existential boredom that comes from having no material want.

The "anti woke anti cancel culture" types are now so upset that brands are boycotting their favourite "news" station, that they are trying to boycott those brands.

I'm sure Kopparberg will be gutted that Stella swilling gammon are cancelling them.

FFS, the exact thing that he was so sardonic about having to do on the BBC, he’s now having to do while pretending that he likes it.

The Wednesday 16th June 2021 edition of Great British Breakfast on GB News averaged 68,000 viewers (2.2% share), an increase from 46,000 (1.5%) on Tuesday.

Andrew Neil, with special guests Rishi Sunak and Michael Portillo, averaged 111,000 (0.7%) across 8 and 9pm, up from 72,000 (0.4%) on Tuesday.

Better day yesterday but they can’t pull a Sunak out of their hats every day. England/Scotland game tomorrow night during Neil.

I imagine Martin Bashir is the last person they want based on their audience as an Asian and enemy of the royal family.

The company that owns the company that owns GBeebies is Liberty Global, they own a number of ISP and TV interests, you may know another company that they joint control with telefonica (post merger), Virgin Media.

Liberty Global is the international wing of the company which owns Formula One now.

Triple awesome, 1 that he would be that daft, 2 that he would say it on air, and 3 that they would tweet it from their actual Twitter account

It’s revealing in a lot of ways really, isn’t it. The staggering levels of unprofessionalism, the fact the presenters feel comfortable enough to say it on the air to begin with, the desperation to get themselves trending or talked about (even if it’s to the continued detriment of the channel).

And then there’s the biggest issue of all: it’s a news network that as far as I’m aware airs NO NEWS, and doesn’t appear to have facilities in place to report the news (only discuss it). It’s beyond ridiculous. If you just relied on GB News you’d be even more ignorant of what is happening in the world than when you tuned in to begin with.

Is this not how they're getting around the reporting restrictions on bias? Because they're basically a twenty four hour magazine show, they don't have to be unbiased?

Probably. Because they they don't report anything "live" and just give views and opinions they are basically the One Shoe for banana splits.

I think the idea was to also present opposing views but I’ve not seen much evidence of that either. It’s been pretty much all right wingers and talking heads, which just leads to one sided conversations and the same old talking points. It’s monotonous. Everything comes back to the mainstream media and The Wokes or some contrived war.

Even The One Show and This Time with Alan Partridge has reports, human interest stories, VTs and so on. The most I’ve seen on GB News is a local reporter standing on the street (or pretending to be live on a boat, while teleporting into a new outfit...hell, a new boat entirely by the looks of it) with AirPods in their ears because they’re so rinky dink they can’t afford enough ear pieces or the facilities to broadcast properly or professionally. What happens if there’s a major incident happening in the UK? Presumably watch Sky News on their laptops and relay the info to their audience.
