With GB News written on the foam cover of the microphone he's holding, they'd have to be really strawberry floating stupid.

They’ve now stuck Farage on a boat this morning in the English Channel doing a Fox News-esque 'migrant watch'.

Hedging her career opportunities, Kirsty Gallacher has signed up with Smooooooooooth Radio for a weekend slot.

Would be weird to see him defect to the enemy live on TV.

Not surprising. Glad they don't get to boast about six figure ratings, though! Should only be downhill for them from here.

Is Farage actually that popular? I suspect he has a few hardcore racist right wingers who love him but outside that I can't see him having much appeal. He stood for election to the House of Commons seven times, and didn't win once.

Where more people may see him is on YouTube. GB News has uploaded his first episode and it has been watched by 106,000; this morning’s escapade on the boat where he’s claiming 30,000 immigrants may cross the channel is at 10,000 views.

Obviously it'll depend on your definition of popular but unfortunately I would say yes, he is, to an extent. The one good thing about FPTP is that it prevented him from gaining any real power – he's a total strawberry floating banana split but he's not stupid, has an ability to get his message across and I dread to think what he might have gone on to do if he'd been able to form a moderate handful of UKIP or Brexit Party MPs.

According to the latest BARB figures, GB News' average weekly audience has now hit 18,000 viewers. So outside of a few key programmes (such as Dan Wootton) it's thoroughly dead throughout most of the day.

A quick google tells me the average cost of 1 viewer seeing an advert is 0.6p.

No way can the channel be anywhere near sustainable at 18,000 viewers.

Mark Dolan has joined the station to host the 9pm to 12am slot from Friday through Sunday, rather originally entitled Tonight Live With Mark Dolan. You may remember him from Channel 4’s Balls of Steel in 2005 to 08 and The Mad Bad Ad Show.

Unfortunately he then went on to partner with Katie Hopkins in 2015 to co-host If Katie Hopkins Ruled the World.

Farage’s viewing figures have already dramatically dropped off, surprisingly. For Thursday’s episode (22nd July) he managed 67,000 (a decline of 30% from his Monday debut), and was easily beaten by BBC and Sky News programming.

Things only got worse for GB News as the night progressed, the average for prime time into late night (7pm-1am) dropping all the way down to 27,000. Advert breaks are now being padded out with weather graphics. Sky News managed 71,000 and BBC News 117,000 (not including any simulcasting on 1).

Delicious :datass:.

Not having enough adverts seems like a very bad (but actually good) sign.

What they literal strawberry float? She is such a vile banana split, I suppose she will fit in with all the vile banana splits. At this rate we will be seeing Nick Griffin getting a weekend show.
