Piers Morgan found himself on the end of another beating last night according to figures from ratings body BARB, with his Tuesday night show dropping to 36,500 viewers across the hour, beaten by Mark Steyn on GB News who managed 78,200. Sky News, having debuted a new, more competitive showing at 8:30 to 9pm, also grew its audience to almost 70,000.

Tom Newton Dunn an hour earlier pulled in 17,100.

Pre-planned holiday my arse. You don’t spend over £4 million on advertising, slap his face on practically every London bus, make him the centre of your advertising - hell, the entire channel - only to bugger off after a month for 6 WEEKS.

Either TalkTV is now going to collapse entirely (‘well I was going to come back but alas they cancelled it…’) or Morgan’s replacement will end up getting more viewers than he does, which would crush Piers fragile ego even further.

Its clearly the emergency escape route.

Exactly the same. He was on air for a couple of weeks to terrible ratings then went on holiday and didn't come back.

The likes of Morgan, Farage and Neil should strategically band together under one channel. That might actually have some chance of success.
