I don't want to watch this, but it really is car crash tv, which makes it quite addictive! It really is the most biased set of programming on television (maybe excluding fringe stations like RT) & I do wonder though if the majority of the audience realise that? I really hope that they do. Love the number of people pranking the station with fake names. :slol:

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

Apparently one of their regional reporters has been receiving abuse in the street:

And some TV ratings for Friday...

Great British Breakfast: 56,000
Brazier & Muroki: 36,000
McCoy and Phillips: 17,000

In comparison BBC Breakfast averaged 1.4 million, ITV Good Morning Britain averaged 574,000 and Sky News Breakfast averaged 73,000.

Amusing article in Private Eye- apparently Andrew Neil has been retweeting criticism of Wootton.

Andrew Neil sticks out like a sore thumb to be honest. He is the only competent presenter by some margin (putting aside his personal politics). I haven't tuned into GB News for a few days now as I've burned out on all the gaffes, but Wootton will never improve enough to be an acceptable anchor. He would be fine on a trashy E! celeb show, but he doesn't have any credentials or skill when it comes to presenting a news programme. I suppose it all depends on if Gbeebies wants to be serious, or continue being a laughing stock.

The 20 minutes that I watched, he was presenting.

He really was shite and it was clear he was out of his depth.

Andrew Neil pulled a Tucker Carlson tonight and announced he’s off for an unspecified amount of time but will supposedly return before the end of summer, bizarrely stating he’ll be back ‘when we least expect it’. Colin Brazier will take over instead.

Less than 2 weeks on air and he’s already off on an extended holiday. :msgreen:

Maybe it's something to do with residency requirements in France?

I’ve written tweets that have had more views than that.

Does this channel rely on adverts for revenue? If so, it won't be around much longer with those figures.

It doesn't matter as no one wants to advertise with them anyway so nothing to show :D

Once their £60 million runs out (which will be in a matter of months) they’ll be relying on advertising and an apparent subscription model (think OnlyFans) where hardcore fans will apparently be able to interact and chat with the presenters to turn a profit.

Unless of course the backers of the channel are willing just to keep throwing money at it and don’t mind losing millions every year.

Isn't Murdoch launching a news channel soon? Hopefully they leech off each other and kill each other off.

I thought he abandoned the idea a while ago.

They changed their minds after coming to the conclusion it wasn’t going to be financially viable to launch a rolling news channel. I think they’re going to focus on Times Radio and video content that will either tie-in to The Times or will be standalone content and stream…somewhere (I guess like John Oliver does now).
