Tom Newton Dunn remains absent from TalkTV, having been off the channel for over a month following rumours that he’s been suspended by News UK after 14 complaints of “inappropriate behaviour“. News UK is still publicly insisting he “is currently on leave.” Dunn has been missing since Thursday June 8th, and didn’t appear at the annual News UK summer party hosted by Rupert Murdoch.
Doing a Tucker Carlson, there was no sign that Dunn knew of his own vacation, having signed off that show by thanking his 5 viewers for watching, and promising that he’d be back “at the same time on Monday”.
Elsewhere at the beleaguered TalkTV, things are looking even more terminal, with Rupert Murdoch said to have grown tired of the failing station, and his depleting bank account, with the top rumour doing the rounds at News UK being that he has given the channel until Christmas to turn things around otherwise he’s pulling the plug. This has resulted in a possible and hasty SUN TV rebranding operation in the coming weeks to impress The Man. Indeed Jeremy Kyle has been spotted recording promotional links with the line “you’re watching The Sun TV” at TalkTV studios…
Even Piers Morgan, which is still TalkTV’s most popular show, is no longer pulling in viewers, with the 19th June 2023 episode falling to just 12,000 viewers. It’s now being beaten regularly by Jacob Rees-Mogg on GB News.
Dunn’s show regularly hovered between 0 and 1000 viewers on any given night, so no wonder it’s taken an entire month for anyone to notice his absence…
