I'm going away with the PS4 this weekend and will only have the VR headset as a screen so I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out.

I can imagine that this thing will be more a party piece, then regular gaming kit...

How long does it take to set the whole kit up when you want to play a game?

having just set up and spending 4 hours or so with it. there is certainly a constant "WOW" factor when using with the right games/demo's, but all games really need demos so you can see if your going to get affected by Nausea as there is no way i'm going to drop £40+ on something that might make me feel ill..

gameplay wise the worst i've tried so far is easily Driveclub, the graphics are such a let down with poor draw distance that spoils the racing.
the only game i've suffered nausea with so far is a VR platform game (cant think its name) that looks and plays fantastically until i'm moving into the screen and then nausea kicks in.
Carnival Games VR was the game that made me (well the wife) buy PSVR and it is an ok experience, although she loves it so far.

the kit took me about 15 mins or so to put together, i guess it will depend on how your PS4 is placed beside your TV on how long it could take you to setup.
for me the thing will just stay connected all the time with the headset sat beside my PS4 when not in use.

p.s.
unless there is some way to add an HDMI splitter to this, i'll not be seeing any HDR on my Pro when it arrives as i'll not be unplugging this every time i want to play an HDR game.

Anyone played Hyper Void in VR yet? And if so, how does it play? Like the immersion space games in VR provide, and also like Tempest on the Jaguar. Hoping this also does the job... any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Why do you need to go away? You have VR now.

Yes?

Polyphony Digital’s upcoming 2017 Gran Turismo Sport title will not offer full support for Sony’s Playstation VR headset.

Confirmed by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi to VideoGamer.com, the new GT title will not be fully playable in VR mode but rather offer a limited “VR Tour” game mode, the details of which have not been revealed yet.

Not sure if that belongs here or in the GT Sport thread. I'm not overly bothered about GT anymore but it should be a prime candidate for being fully playable in VR.

Completed Tumble VR tonight. I can't believe how much there is to this game for how little it costs. Easily the best value for money game I've played in as long as I remember. I finished level 79 but I can only assume there's a secret level 80 once you get all the target and timed medals. It would be weird to end it on 79.

Don't know what VR game to move onto next after completing this and Batman which I finished last weekend. The last 3rd of that game is strawberry floating terrifying. Everything from Croc onward is amazingly done and scared the pants off me.

Best game available for PSVR is almost certainly Rez Infinite...

I've been playing a bit of "Robinson: The Journey" as got it sent through from Boomerang. It's very good and look incredible. I hear it's quite short and using the normal fps controls for movement I did feel a bit motion sick at first but seem to be OK now.

The game has a definite wow factor though. Looking round the world is a pleasure and the gameplay is decent so far. Not sure I'd want to pay full rrp for it but deffo worth a rental or a cheap purchase once it drops in price.

Does anyone here have Tomb Raider and how do you access the VR bit as I can't see it on the main menu.
Do I need to be at a certain point in the story before I can fire it up?

That's just plain wrong.

As good as Batman is, its not quite deep enough to stand up to the excellence of Rez. I'm not even going to try to compare the game to Carnival Games.

Rez is a stone cold, hit you round the head if you disagree, classic.

There's no argument here, nothing else really comes close. Even if Rez didn't feel like it was made for VR (which it does), it'd still be the best PSVR game at the moment.

Sure, Rez is a good game. but thats all, a good game. when you become the Batman in that game you know that it's as deep as it goes as you are The Batman, something Rez will never achieve being a simple shooter. so Rez will never get close to The Batman experience, sure... a good shooter, but that is all it will ever be.

Not required. The best way to play the game is just with the headset and a controller, don't know what a Move controller could possibly add.

No. Rez is not just a 'good shooter' its an experience like no other. Batman might give you the Batman experience, but Rez is a transcendent experience, playing Rez Infinite is the best of what VR should be, it takes you to another world and fully engrosses you in it (like Batman) but at the same time (unlike Batman) it gives you a great game to play while you are in that world.

Rez is strawberry floating boring shite. Always has been and always will be no matter how many times they re-release it. Child of Eden is better, anyway.
