Future Updates

Gears Pack Feedback
We are going to have an update on Gears Packs. One large piece of feedback we are looking at including is the removal of duplicate cards appearing in packs that need it. We do plan on keeping them in some packs where they make sense (ie: Horde Booster Packs).
Future Community Holiday Event packs (Gearsmas, etc) will always have a credit path to obtaining them.
We will have more details on this here in the very near future.

Player Penalties
We are still looking into the player penalty fixes. This did not make it in this Title Update. We are exploring if we can get this without a Title Update. We will keep you posted on this as it is a big focus for us.

Horde Leaderboards
We will be wiping the Horde leaderboards sometime after TU1 to ensure players can compete for. We will have more news on when this occurs.

Footstep audio
This is being worked on and should be in the next Title Update.

Competitive/Core Lobbies
This is a larger update that will take a bit but we still have this planned for a future Title Update.

PC Crossplay Testing in a Special Event Playlist
We are hoping to conduct a test on this in November. This will be a separate event playlist for people on both platforms to join. We will see what backend telemetry after the weekend and consider what we can do in the future.

Ranks/Horde Icons not appearing in scoreboards
This is still planned for a future Title Update.

Grenade Spawning Fix
Another issue we have a fix for in the next Title Update. It didn’t make this round of testing.

Campaign Achievement Issues
We have a fix for this in Title Update 2. It will require users to complete the same campaign item that they did not complete to trigger it but they can continue from the checkpoints that they have obtained prior to do so.

Some additional Windows 10 features coming
Vertical Split Screen and Ultra Wide HUD scaling are coming to Windows 10 in the next Title Update.
Patching on Windows 10 is a better experience now. Cyphos will have a post regarding that later this weekend.

I have never heard of "Run the Jewels"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Run_the_Jewels

On June 26, 2013, Run the Jewels released their self-titled debut, Run The Jewels, on Fool's Gold Records as a free digital download.

Perhaps theyre trying to recoup that cost from Gears of War players?

Tried a couple of times to get in horde matches today and both times matchmaking only found a single player. I hope it's not dead :(

The latest patch has messed up horde match making so you only get one other player. Who will then quit because the game is empty.

The gears of war forums are full with complaints.

My 1 month free Live trial is all that I'm using and when that runs out I'll be off XBL for good. Ho hum, I'll play some more campaign next time I'm on then. Shame as Horde was a decent blast

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF GEARS OF WAR

Next week marks a huge milestone in the Gears of War franchise. On November 7th, it will have been 10 years since the original Gears of War released on store shelves. We still can’t quite believe it!

Those ten years have included the release of five Gears of War titles, memorable character moments, emotional endings, and jumping 25 years into the future of Sera with Gears of War 4 to start a whole new saga. At the heart of it all, what truly makes Gears special is the fans– from the stories you share of finding love through Gears, the huge tattoos of your favorite characters, intricately crafted fan-art built from months of effort, to simply connecting with one another because of the game.

All of us at The Coalition feel incredibly proud and fortunate to be sharing this moment with Gears fans just one month after the release of Gears of War 4. As a thank you to one of the best communities in gaming, we’re announcing “10 Years of Gears”, a series of celebrations to mark this incredible milestone for Gears of War.

Also coming next week is the official launch of The Coalition Army. Thousands of amazing fans have already signed up to be part of the initiative, and we can’t wait to welcome more of you into the family. We’ll be delivering brand new content hand-built by the team, and providing a new way to access amazing resources like our 4K Cosplay Guides, Stream overlays and more.

We’ll also have a variety of competitions over the next month, including opportunities to win the ‘Bodied’ community weapon skin and a whole lot more. Whether you’re a creator, hardcore player or simply a fan, there’ll be a competition for you.

UPDATES TO GEARS OF WAR 4

Following the recent release of Title Update 1 and announced details on future fixes coming to Gears of War 4, we will be launching a new update to our Gear Pack system later today ahead of our anniversary. This update is focused on providing a more consistent Credit earning experience, and more ways to build your collection of customization content as you play.

Following in the footsteps of the recent increase to the Credit earn rate in Horde, this update increases the Credit earn rate in Versus Multiplayer. We’ve also increased the amount of Credits received when losing to be much closer to winning, providing a more consistent income even if you’re having a rough night in Versus.

We’ve also heard your feedback on wanting more from the Bounty system. Following this update, Bounties will award significantly improved XP or Credits (depending on the Bounty) based on their difficulty, and have been rebalanced to offer achievable but challenging goals for each game mode. Bounties are now a really great way to level up faster, or build your collection of Credits.

As our final part of this update, we’re also revamping a number of our packs to provide more ways to acquire customization content. Whether you’re wanting to level up fast with Versus Boosters or building your Horde Skills with Horde Boosters, our new Gear Pack revamp allows you to build your collection of customization content through the Packs that suit your style.

Versus Boosters now contain one guaranteed customization item and four Bounties. One Bounty has a chance to be a second customization item.

Horde Boosters now contain one guaranteed customization item, four Horde Skills and a chance for a Horde Skill to be a Horde Bounty

Operations Packs now contain two guaranteed customization items

We’ll be continuing to listen to your thoughts and feedback about Gears of War 4. We can’t wait to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Gears of War next week with all of you. Here’s to many more years of Gears!

I just completed insane 50 waves with randoms on Relic. The where all level 170ish. I had a level 5 heavy with +20% turret and +40% marked damage. On the team was another heavy an engineer, a soldier and a scout.

A good scout and engineer seem to be crucial along with turrets. The scout had +50% deposit bonus. The engineer had made a row of 5 turrets (with 80% health bonus) behind a wall of 5 sentries. The scout collected all the power, and the engineer repaired all the fortifications, he must have had the 100% repair and the reduced cost turret. I topped the leader board probably becasue I was marking everything i could and followed it up with a turret kill. We all wiped on the last wave with a swamak. but the Soldier came back with 3 uses of the hammer of dawn to annihilate everything.

Ive come away with almost 4000 coins and my heavy is now level 7.

Ive got all my horde classes to level7 to open up 4 skills for each. Mainly normal randoms, about 1/5 on hardcore, and including one run of the full 50 on insane. After starting out on normal ive found there are alot less quitters on hardcore and insane - I think thats where the serious players are. If you want to get your class levels up with randoms faster, Id suggest only playing hardcore/insane.

Soldier, 20hrs, 3410 kills, 486 waves.
Scout, 23hrs, 3410 kills, 544 waves.
Engineer, 21hrs, 2761 kills, 524 waves.
Sniper, 18hrs, 2262 kills, 466 waves.
Heavy, 14hrs, 2035 kills, 343 waves.

Scout with health rage shotguns is the most fun to play for the first 30 waves. The sniper is very satisfying when you pull off the explosive headshots. The soldier is a good allrounder with a hammerburst and a lancer. The heavy is best on turrets, and ive seen other players with very good explosive builds, remember to mark everything for the extra damage skill. An engineer is essential, but you spend most of your time arranging and repairing defenses hoping that the scouts will bring in the cash.

I havent use the hammer of dawn / mortor / sniper skills much at all. I used the hammer of dawn once, for 8000 cash it didnt do much on its lowest power. Ive heard it can be very good though. I might scrap some of my legendery skins to increase the power.
