Yeah I notice quitters on Horde too. Start out with a full squad and 1 drops out by wave 10 or so, followed by a 2nd and a 3rd within next few waves. Has happened 3 times out of about 6 or 7 games I've had

They should lock out quitters from online for 30mins or so like Halo 5.

The horde quitters have read a few old online google search articles that say the fastest way to level up your horde class is to do 1-10 waves, quit and repeat. They have since changed the class exp gain so that is not the best way to level up now, its alot better to stay the course. Its stupid and lazy - and people should play the game rather than googling shortcuts.

Last night a group of randoms on normal horde stayed the course and we got to finish level 50. Got a very sizable chunk of class exp for it too.

EDIT: I agree with Photek, persistent horde quitters should get bans. Although at the moment the only way to get out of a game in horde is either quit or get to 50, so they will have to do something about that first.

Start a game of King Of The Hill, before the lobby kids in to the game and starts the 5 second countdown 3 people on my team quit with 2 seconds to go. Titanfall 2 needs to arrive quick because I'm about done with the multiplayer in this wankfest. Obviously the 'Early Quit Penalty' must be really wank if people just quit games willy-nilly, it's just made me not want to even bother anymore with the online which is a shame as I'm just about to hit rank level 62.

Wait, does this not do 4-player story co-op now? I was praising it for doing split screen and they go and do this to me?

That's genuinely a proper letdown. The four player co-op on Gears 3 was amazing.

I found Halo 5's Arena and ranked matches got better and better with time. Straight off the bat quitting a game earns you an instant 30min ban.

343 Track quitting, betrayals, idling, intentional suicides AND excessive disconnects and bans players for difference amount of time depending on the frequency. I've heard reports of bans from an hour to a few days. Hopefully Gears can implement similar stat tracking.

Also in Halo 5 BTB which is not ranked, when a player leaves others can join the game, maybe Gears could have unranked games with similar results.

I don't see why Bots can't auto fill empty spaces in Horde. Didn't that happen in a previous Gears game or am I imagining that?

Is there a designated day/time for GR hording? Can put it in thread title. What time is best?

I'm happy to change the thread title for one-off Horde gatherings or have a regular night say Thursday nights at 8pm.

Yes. I think we need to get the buy in of a pool of GR horders for the day.
It also needs a catchy name, Like motorstorm mondays, or erm Sundahalo had.
"Thordesday", "Horde on Thursday", "Gracorders do Thursdays". Someone come up with something better.

EDIT: Can a GR group of less than 5 people go into horde match making and backfill the room with randoms?

So, is anyone up for Horde on evening(s) of this Friday (28th Oct) and/or next Thurs (3rd Nov)? Say from 8/8.30pm onwards? I have TV to myself those nights once kids are in bed by 8pm.

I don't mind what class, happy to chop and change if needed. My best class so far is a heavy as that's the only one I've reached lvl 3 on and have some half decent cards for it.

I will be on other evenings too but probably not till 10pm or later

Edit: "Thordesday" gets my vote

Just had a game of horde with randoms on hardcore on the ship level.

Did the 50 waves with not too much problem. There was one of each class.

I was the engineer so set up pretty much 90% of the defenses, and kept everything repaired and ammo topped up. I had one sentry and 3 shock sentrys, those shockers are pretty useful. All the energy was left for the scout to pick up who had +50% i think. The heavy had extra damage on the pick up weapons so he had 2 weapons lockers full of salvos - very effective.

My engineer is now at level 7, Im at level 95.

Checkout

Revisit the iconic supermarket in Cole’s hometown of Hanover 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 in this Legacy Map. Much like the rest of Sera, nature is reclaiming whatever it can following the Locust Wars, but that hasn’t slowed the fast, furious and frenetic combat that takes place between the checkout lanes and the electronics department.

Drydock

Transported from a COG ship building facility to a ship breaking scrapyard on a Seran mudflat, this fan favorite returns with a vengeance to Gears of War 4 Versus Multiplayer and Horde modes.

In addition to the release of these fan favorite maps, tune into Xbox Wire on November 1 for a sneak peek at the Run the Jewels “Air Drop” featuring playable Killer Mike and EL-P characters for Versus Multiplayer and Horde.

Gears of War 4 and the Gears of War 4 Season Pass are available now at your local retailer, including Microsoft Stores and microsoftstore.com. Season Pass owners also receive five exclusive digital items as part of the Vintage VIP Pack, including the Vintage JD character skin, Vintage Gnasher and Dropshot weapon skins, Vintage JD Emblem and Vintage JD Bounty for extra XP; permanent DLC map ownership of over 24 additional maps (two per month for a year) for private play on dedicated servers; access to an exclusive Developer Playlist where new maps, modes and features can be tested prior to broad release; and the Starter Airdrop, a care package that outfits gamers with over a dozen Gear Packs and grants assorted character and weapon skins, Horde skills and abilities, and XP boosting bounties. Pick up the Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition to get the Season Pass and base game bundled at a discount.

* Drydock and Checkout will be available in Versus Dodgeball and Arms Race modes for squads up to three large and Horde players on Normal difficulty in the Developer Playlist period.

Good Horde session with randoms on Dam. We had 1 level 1 guy who was level 9 by the end. I had to encourage him to keep repairing and stocking ammo up as he was the only engineer in the team but he did his job and we all got to the end without any drama.

Just cashed in 1 of my very rare cards (Heavy - Mortar Strike) for 150 scrap so I could upgrade a couple of more common cards to higher skill level.

Sorry to SpaceJebus as only got your message as the 5th slot was filled by a random. Maybe another time

One of the good things about GOW3 was that it launched with a lot of maps plus alot of the legacy maps. They really should release a big chunk at once rather than a drip feed every month.

Im trying to level up my scout. It does seem to have the most interesting skills. Ive got rage, health boost and shotgun damage on, and im virtually a short range tank to anything but lancer chainsaws. I find that i have to tone it down because i think other people quit because im taking all the kills.

EDIT: Ive also re upped and got Anya skin in one of the re up packs.

Played a bit of Horde over the past couple of days, when it works it's so good but they have to address the quiting soon or this is going to die.

Had some great games add a sniper, almost at level 3 after 2 games.

I think the only thing they could do is create lobbies where people can choose say "Waves 1-20" or "Waves 1-50" etc, as their intent.

Completing 50 waves of Horde takes ages, and I honestly don't care when people quit. If you want a guaranteed 1-50 attempt you really need to look for people online, or play with friends etc. Nobody should expect strangers to play 2+ hours in one sitting.

Fair point but the fact that one person quiting leads to everyone quitting needs to be addressed. Maybe they could have different playlists like casual, quick game, hard-core, etc or compensate players when someone leaves the game. I can't see it having legs in its current state as playing rounds 1-10 gets pretty boring.

Hadn't played this in a while but spent most of this evening on it. Chapter IV was excellent and V seems awesome so far. No idea why they paced the first 2 acts the way they did. They are so poor in comparison to the rest of the game.

Wait, that was the end?! What the strawberry float? Ihonestly thought I had an hour more to go and was wondering if I could finish it tonight. Did they run out of time or money or something? That was so abrupt and out of nowhere.

Good game overall, however, VERY uneven.

I don't think the ending was bad as such but it felt like something from Garth Marenghi with the scene ending mid sentence.

Yeah, that was the oddest part.

The after-credits scene was great.
