Doesn't backwards compatibility render this, or any other remaster, pointless?

Faster frame rate, redone cutscenes, uprezzed textures, better resolution, adding in game mechanics from Gears 3 and remastered music.. So no, a remaster is not pointless, the fact you get 4 games free is stunning, HORDE LIVES! :D

Am I right in thinking they have given away all of the Gears games except 2 through Games with Gold?

Pretty cool then that most long term Gold members will get all of them bar 2 on BC when it launches later this year. Apparently I never bothered to grab the first game though as it isn't coming up on my games list.

That's a pretty sweet deal, I already have Gears 1-3 but on disc so being able to play them digitally will be nice. I'm in the middle of a complete Halo MCC campaign playthrough so it'll be cool to do the same with gears.

My plan is to play GoW ultimate edition and then replay 2 and 3 and experience the whole trilogy again

Is Judgement worth playing?

I'd say yes, it's a gorgeous game and its very game focused, story is almost non existant, it's gives options to only play with shotguns or only melee stuff to get A+ reward for portions of the game.

Risk reward stuff really plus a few horde moments in the campaign. I think it's better than Gears 2 easily.

I like Judgement but it is easily the worst Gears game for me. Still a good game nonetheless.

I loved Gears 2. It had horde mode. That alone makes me hold it in high esteem. I thought the campaign was fun.

I'll replay through them all, slightly concerning that last year and this I'll have played through Halos and Gears but I guess I've had a ball doing the Halo's.

Halo 5 is hopefully awesome though.
