Maybe it's because I haven't got the shotgun but on hardcore this is really tough but I don't wanna wuss out on normal...

Can't recall if you'll have gotten any yet but if you throw a frag grenade into the holes it closes them up early.

Yeah I remembered that but I have none at the checkpoint and there's only 2 to pick up.

I played on normal but it was far too easy. I wanted to play hardcore online but the skill level of players was just atrocious.

What's the deal with this and getting the 360 games free? If I borrowed the game off of somebody and played it, would that be enough to get the freebies? Or will I always have to have this disc in the Xbone in order to play the others?

Interesting, I reckon you'd get them free....

I have to say, after talking with my mate, the ONLY way to play this game is online with a co-op buddy. I'm having THE BEST time playing the campaign at mo, mate told me Dom is such a tool when he's the AI. After descriptions in here and DF I was expecting the Rain effects to be awful but they looked fine to me...perhaps memory of them had diminished but they gave desired effect of place being soaked and windy...

I think I already own a few digital versions of the 360 games, but it might be worth me playing the remaster on my console to ensure I then "own" all of the 360 games.

Cheers Photek.

Loving this online so much now. Feels like the good old days except for the shotgun being unreliable .

I could never handle Gears 1 online, even in private matches with friends I struggled. Subsequent games were much more accessible.

You are very welcome 8-) Maybe the frankly terrible players online (competitive and in campaign) can take some notes off you, you never know.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Title Update 9/23/2015

General improvements to the consistency of the Gnasher.
- Gnasher pellets now always shoot in a consistent pattern.
- Removed “Idle State” from MP which could cause shooting trajectory to be more random.
- Fixed a bug where some Gnasher shots were reporting as headshots incorrectly

The Coalition Commentary: “We wanted to improve the Gnasher by focusing on producing a consistent shot, so players can better predict and estimate the damage they are doing to opponents. We’ve done this by changing the Gnasher from a randomized pellet spread to the same shape spread. This will help reduce occurrences where you do less or more damage than expected, and also help players calculate their damage expectations during gunfights more accurately and consistently.
Additionally, we’ve also removed the “Idle State” from Multiplayer, which could result in your first shot landing off center if you hadn’t aimed or fired your weapon after a small period of time"

THIS! IS! ANNEX! and Nub Pwn3r Achievements can now be earned in any ring based game mode such as King of the Hill, Blitz, and Annex
THIS! IS! ANNEX! – Complete 100 matches in ring-based game types on Xbox Live and capture 3 objectives in each match.
NUB PWN3R – Win 20 rounds in ring-based game types on Xbox Live by shutting out the opposing team
Achievement descriptions have been updated to reflect these new unlock conditions.

The Coalition Commentary: “We heard our fans loud and clear to spread these achievements across all ring game types – and we’ve also modified the achievement to work in one round scenarios which is how most of our ring types are available in public. For players looking to get some more playing time with others in on Annex, we’re currently looking at potential ways to incorporate Annex in future playlists or community events.”

Improvements to player spawn locations for Blitz and King of the Hill on the following maps:
- War Machine
- Old Bones
- Gridlock
- Process

The Coalition Commentary: “We’ve made further improvements to Blitz and King of the Hill spawns based on the feedback from the community as well as our ESL Pre-Season cup series. We’ve adjusted some of the spawn locations on the four maps listed to provide a more competitive, fair experience – such as removing the front door spawn when the frags are the active hill on Mansion, or the top-side spawn on War Machine.”

Fixes for invisible collision on some Multiplayer maps including:

- Mansion: Area around Boomshot
- Clocktower: Debris at top middle of map

The Coalition Commentary: “The two Mansion changes were made to restore some of the legacy Lancer angles around Boomshot, allowing for more variety in the way teams can challenge and pressure teams for power weapon control. The Clocktower fix also restores some angles in the top side over the debris that were previously available in Gears of War 1”.

Reduced flinching (camera shake) when taking damage in Multiplayer to be consistent with Gears 1
Changed Re-Up system to retain unlocked characters when “re-upping” (Player Level in Multiplayer)
Spectator Mode now displays match score in the HUD
Audio improvements for footstep and movement sounds behind the player
Improvements to server stability
Fixed a crash when muting players with a spectator in the game
Fixed a bug where dead bodies could sometimes cause players to roll instead of move into cover
General bug fixes and improvements

All I want to know is when and how I get Gears of War Judgement on my Xbox One. No news on that front though, I take it.

I guess it will be up when the new dashboard is released and everyone gets the backwards compatibility.

Still the same as when it was announced -

All Gears of War titles will be supported on Backward Compatibility when it launches publicly this fall.

NXOE and/or Preview members will probably get it earlier though.

I still have to finish Gears 3 and Judgement on Insane difficulty, so looking forward to that. Do have to finish this game though also. :fp:

Too many amazing games this year.

: Do I need to have Xbox Live Gold?
If you purchase and play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition while connected to Xbox Live – whether a Silver or Gold member – by December 31 2015, you will qualify.

Q: How do I get my tokens? Do I get them right when I purchase the game?
We’ll begin fulfilling this program when Backward Compatibility becomes generally available later this fall. You’ll receive messages with game tokens through Xbox Live. We’ll fulfill those tokens in waves.

Q: What happens if I already own one of the Gears of War games for Xbox 360?
You’ll get access to the games you already own when Backward Compatibility launches. If you already owned some or all of the Xbox 360 games we greatly thank you for your support over the years.

Q: How does backward compatibility work if I only own retail/physical copies of my Xbox 360 games?
Insert the Xbox 360 disc into the Xbox One optical disc drive. The Xbox 360 game will be downloaded and installed to your Xbox One hard-drive. An initial download is required that will require internet connection and ISP fees apply. You will need to insert the Xbox 360 disc in the Xbox One Console whenever you want to play this game.

Q: Will I be able to play Gears of War’s multiplayer modes, including Versus and Co-op?
All game modes, including Multiplayer, will work just as they do on Xbox 360. Additionally, you can play with people who are either playing Gears of War via backwards compatibility on Xbox One, or on Xbox 360.
