Holy gooseberry fool! Just started playing Braid for the first time.

It's brilliant! When you finally realise how to do certain levels are some of the most 'Wow!' moments of recent times.

So I purchased Halo2 for my 360 and all I can say is WOW!!!

This is the best game ever. Period. Playing this on Legendary is simply gaming perfection. Completing the first stage is my hardest gaming acheivement bar none.

Also, the power of the console has given the game a nice sheen I don't recall it having with the console's 'little' (yet older) brother. Highly recommended... but ONLY if you're going to play Legendary!

:| ...

But anyway, I've been playing GRID all this week, and it's awesomesauce. The flashback feature is great and really should become a genre staple from here on out, I love all the different races - except Le Mans 24hr, racing in the dark means loadsa crashes for me - and actually having a decent racing partner is very satisfying... unless they beat me, then I don't meet most of my sponsor's requirements.

Didn't get here. If it's not here by Monday Play-Asia will be referred to as "filthy liars" from then on.

So far I've got Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, Unreal Tournament 3, Civ IV complete and a few others but I'm looking for suggestions.

Half Life 2
Doom 3
Chronicles of Riddick

I have all these on other formats but I am tempted to get Half Life 2 so that I can try out the various mods on Steam.

Doom 3 is a good shout but I'll hold off on Chronicles of Riddick until this new version with 33% more gameplay!!111 comes out.

Oh and I downloaded Trackmania Nations (awesome) and Far Cry for free as well. Good times :)

Vampire: The Masquerade. It is a bit buggy but it is still a class game and I think there has been a few patches to rectify most of the probs it suffered on release.

I have that but I didn't get into it. I think I played it for about 1/2 hour and gave up on it.

I know I know, best game ever, seminal, etc :|

Maybe I should install it again and give it another chance.

I'll give it ago. I remember a lot of people praising it when it came out.

Also I think you can download Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition for free on the Gametap service, even if you live in the UK.

I resent that. Personally. On what basis? Everything is bigger and better than the first and much more exciting than the third... Why, how... how dare you!?

Really? I could only imagine someone saying that if they hadn't actually played the third.

This. When the Scarab arrives for the first time is one of my favourite FPS moments ever.

Just finished Mass Effect. 8.5/10.

Brilliant, if slightly flawed. There are a few dick moves in it too. I enjoyed it though.

Fable II Pub Games.

Spinnerbox is just annoyingly random. You just have to keep pressing A, and hope you win the tournaments. :x

The other two games (Fortune's Tower especially) are great, but Spinnerbox is just too random to be enjoyable.

Final Fantasy IV finally turned up today. Now I suppose I'll be waiting another seven days for Dragon Quest IV.

I've just done the DLC mission. It's such a compelling game, much more than KOTOR. I love exploring the planets in the Mako.

Played 4 player Halo 3 co-op (Legendary) on a friend's brand new 50" HDTV. One of the very, very few times I've said to myself "I'm experiencing perfection here".

Perfectly understandable! It took me years to get into it. I must have started it 5 or 6 times before I got hooked! After all, the first level is pretty slow and I used to hate that I could shoot these goons straight in the head and they would hardly flinch! It's all part of the RPG thing of course, but it just irritated me. Anyway, I eventually fought past that stage and once I got into it I simply couldn't stop playing it. Now it's my favourite ever game.

And now I can't find it! I am sad.
