I enjoyed Timesplitters, some HD ports would be cool but I wonder if the controls would hold up now, Im guessing some updating would need to be done there.

I am pretty certain that when I was 12 years old (20 years ago! Jesus
), I believed that in 2018 gaming would be done through a brain/computer interface.
We are so far behind where we should be

I've played 2 recently and it holds up perfectly

The main thing for me with a TimeSplitters update will be the map editor - if they could pour some love on that, I'll be a happy man. At least let us make maps set in each of the singleplayer worlds.

Nah. Gaming should have reached the point where we can create a digital replica of ourselves and mind switch to it to explore worlds and do whatever we want. Basically a fully digital world that we control and can bring others into.
Or in simpler terms, a second reality under our control.

It sounds like we are miles behind, but when I was 12 I would never have predicted that the world of 2018 would be full of DLC and lootboxes.

Yeah, but can you control every single little detail of what your character does in it? In effect, can you literally become that character to control their actions with your own mind without a single button needing to be pressed?

Well, not to that degree, no, but people do make their own animations and stuff.
The Ready Player One-style title you're imagining will happen eventually, I'm sure.

I was planning on getting the Horizon 4 Ultimate edition, but then I need to replace my Xbox anyway so jumped on the deal of an Xbox One X with Horizon 4 and Motorsport 7 that was announced at Gamescom - which is the same price as just the One X itself.
