As requested, all Nintendo centric chat not specific to one console can be discussed in here!

What was everyone's first Nintendo system/game? Mine was the NES with the Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt multicart :toot:

Red brick Game Boy and Super Mario Land 1. My university notes are filled with badly drawn moai as a result.

First Nintendo system I played was my cousins NES and the game was Super Mario Bros. I remember they were living with my Nan at that point and she lived just down the road from us so I would wander down there to have a go, the game felt so incredible compared to the stuff we had on the Spectrum at home!

First Nintendo system I owned was my GameBoy Color and the first game I had with it was Links Awakening

My first Nintendo was the Game Boy, which I got at launch alongside Super Mario Land in 1990. I'm still very fond of the system although I only have Game Boy Color systems now. The chunky carts and plug n' play style remains so neat!

Prior to this I was very much a Sega lad; I'd hugely enjoyed the Master System. It still tickles me that now we see Sega games on Nintendo consoles - this was unthinkable back in the 80s and early 90s :-).

I had a SNES! A Link to the Past and Super Mario All-Stars. It was a good introduction to video games!

My first Nintendo console was the SNES. I got the Street Fighter 2 pack for Xmas "that year" (i forget which now), together with a Pro pad (which i used to use rather than the offical one - all those extra buttons HAVE to be good.

I still have the box for it (the SNES) (as well as the SNES itself of course). I even have the horrible plastic grey accessory case that came free with it in Woolworths (actually quite a useful case as i recall).

Prior to that i had a Gameboy, but i hardly played it. The C64 i was rocking at the time had better graphics and the games only cost £1.99. I think the first game i played on that was Final Fantasy Legend. I rebought a copy when it was republished in the late 90's as i had nostalgia for it then..... and that rerelease was 20 years ago....

I did have a couple of mates who had the NES though. I use to play a lot of Punch Out (the Mike Tyson vintage), Gyromite and RC Pro AM. Good times.

First console was an N64 with Super Mario 64 alongside Mario Kart 64. Not a bad way to get introduced to gaming really! :D

My first Nintendo thing I ever owned was two game and Watch machines one was a White Donkey Kong (possibly jnr) one I still own the other was a Popeye which I took apart to see how it worked while like 9 and broke it (I was always a tinkering little bugger , probably my autism)

First actual Console was the SNES I think it was a Mario All Stars one as I had the megadrive first , I got a lot of games when I got it though as I got an import convertor my mum let me know I was getting it like 6 months in advance and I started buying any American game I could get my hand on for cheap, I had Final Fight and Mario World and all sorts of stuff by the time Christmas came round.

God i loved my SNES. I remember having one of those converters to play US/Japanese games. I actually went through a couple of designs. The early ones had the second game lie perpendicular to the game you actually wanted to run, and also a toggle switch to select whether you wanted ot play the UK game or the NTSC one, whilst the later ones all seemed to be in line (one infront of the other).

I had quite a good selection of import games, although the really desireable ones were way out of my price range, I remember Star Fox being about £100 in my town when it released in the US ahead of the UK.

Nintendo

Played on my cousin's NES briefly but the first one I owned (got for Christmas) was the SNES with Super Mario Kart and Super Mario All-Stars. Good grief, the nostalgia overload from even just typing that out... :datass:

Probably an unpopular opinion but I would love Nintendo to go into VR at some point.

Yeah I remember seeing some import SNES and Megadrive games for like £100 as I was a kid though I ignored these and it was once the game had come out in the UK and no one wanted an American or Jap Copy id grab the import copies as they started being thrown out for £5 to £10 it was a great way to get lots of games cheap

I had the US version of Mario Kart and a few others, there used to be a game shop in Walthamstow that did imports, I was just a kid back then so I couldn't actually buy any myself but I remember popping into the shop everytime.
