I haven't even thought about inclduing my games collection as a separate thing on my home insurance! I would of thought my entire collection is worth around £350-£400. Not sure if that's enough for the insurance company to warrant it?

Tbh, I don't have much of a collection. I think I have around 30 GameCube games, maybe the same with Wii. Probably 60 360 games and odds and sods from older games.

Wish I was able to get more, but monies.

Doom, dude, I think you may be underestimating the value of your collection. I know that you have five (?) GameCubes and a nice set of GC games... plus your Xbox One X :-) .

Oh, and just a general thought - and Cora may know more about this - but I don't believe that digital / downloaded content can be insured.

Thirty GC games... at, say, a value of £15 each then then that adds up to around £450, Pedz. Your sixty Xbox 360 games at a value of £6 each equates to £360. That's a grand total of about £800... plus the value of the consoles and any other games you have. It's surprising how it adds up!

No, it can't. Certainly not by a normal insurer - there needs to be a physical item to insure. I don't imagine that'll be the status quo for very long though as we move further into the digital age.

I hadn't even thought about my 360 gear - I've got around 75 hard copy games...

Not forgetting your Panasonic Q! If you don't value it as much I'll happily take it off your hands... :shifty:

Haha yea maybe I underestimated it! And I have six Gamecubes  yea I'll have to do an inventory of everything I got! I forgot about my handheld collection, those games plus the rare boxes accessories I have for the Cubes! In that case I would estimate the collection is around double the original guess, about £800.

I'll do inventory and try and work out an estimate it's worth!

My Q is tucked away in a cupboard at the moment. I would love to have it set up, but I just haven't the room. I think I need to sell the kids and make a games room

Doing this just now.

New house and I'm finally able to get all most of my stuff on shelves or out on display. Still gonna take a while to get it all done (I need to sort out a proper desk set up for my PC), but it's already looking good and it's going to be awesome.

The only downside is that I've lost a lot of the space I had for VR stuff.

But I've got a lot of space to display some of my favourite bits and pieces, especially my retro kit.

Pics once it's done.

Yeah, be nice to see what you have on display.

There's nothing particularly interesting, though I have a wee Metroid shrine that has all my Metroid games in it. Only got a few missing ones (Zero Mission, OG, Prime Pinball and Federation Force).

I grabbed a few bits today but nothing earth shattering

Project Gotham racing, project Gotham racing 2, conflict desert storm 2, medal of honor rising sun, and dead or alive 3 all for Xbox boxed complete for £1 each and then I went and got Shrek 2 for GameCube complete for £1 from a different place.

I'm going to a retro game indoor market thing saterday but I don't imagine I'll buy much proberbly just have a look about.

I picked up The Suffering and Futurama on XBOX yesterday both from different branches of CeX. The Suffering was a quid Futurama was a bit more expensive at £12 although I understand it’s considered one of the more sought after games on the system.

I also picked up a second controller for a tenner since I’m having a friend round for a few drinks this weekend.

Was that an official controller, Salads? I like the official S one; it's real comfortable. Nice to see some folk enjoying the original Xbox!

Yeah, I have a crystal S controller which came with the console when I bought it and now I have a black one too. It’s not in the best condition, the tops of the sticks are a bit worn but it works just fine.

I’m looking for a duke controller actually but couldn’t find one in a CeX round my way. I was after a copy of Fuzion Frenzy too as I have fond memories of playing it on a demo pod regularly back in the day but the copy in my local CeX didn’t have the manual.

Most collections should be covered under "unspecified personal posessions". However what you have in your home may far exceed that, and so it may be necessary to specify certain items which add up to increase the insurance premium or total you pay, or both. Or increase the insured amount for unspecified possessions. Then all you have to do is prove the value of the thing when it comes to making a claim.

I should probably avoid adding everything up in public in case I get robbed, especially since I ended up watching lockpicking videos on youtube because of algorithms last night, that basically reveal front doors do strawberry floating nothing.

If anyone can fix it, I have a Crystal Xbox S controller that doesn't work.

My Q broke in transit from Japan. I've heard it's a relatively easy fix, but I was bloody gutted when it happened. Something to do with the innards being on plastic shelves that get brittle over time.
