I had a white one too, I think I prefer the original design to the SP but the lack of a lit screen was a massive issue for certain games.

I gave the original model to my sister when I got the SP and she instantly girlified it by using a pink ribbon as a wrist strap

She also nicked/permanently borrowed my copies of Mario Kart, Kuru Kuru Kururin and Harvest Moon.

I prefer the original GBA look over the SP as well. As you say though it's that screen that lets it down. What the hell were they thinking?

My SD2SNES Pro arrived today and it works perfectly. All my SNES ROMS now playable through an actual Super Famicom. Awesome. :D

Its also occasionally good to clean your consoles slot using the credit card trick, if you look me up on YouTube there's a video showing how I do it, I'd post the link but I'm on my rubbish phone just search kerr9000 cleaning you'll find it

I’ve cleaned everything up and my games are loading up much more regularly. I’m not getting a different problem which I had forgotten about, the machine randomly resets itself. The length of time it takes to do so varies.

Sometimes I can have a game on two minutes and it will just start from scratch, other times I could play for 30 mins with no issue.

The red light on the front stars solid so not sure if it’s the power supply.

One person mentioned that cheap AV cables can cause this.

I have a spare psu that I’ve borrowed so will try that when I get time. I can also try the official GameCube video cable and see if that fixes it.

Anyone else had to deal with this? Seems fairly common online but the fixes vary wildly.

It's great isn't it. It's such a great to see things like that, when today the only way you'd get anything comparable is by buying some overpriced collectors edition shite.

I should probably say wd40 isn't necessarily the best idea because it doesn't evaporate, that's the point, it's s lubricant.

It's basically white spirit mixed with oil. So try other chemical cleaners first. As oil can create a barrier to conductivity.

Takedown is just the perfect arcade racer. Easily in my all-time top 20 games, maybe even top 10.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I know some people like 2, but for me Burnout 3 is the best one they ever made and I didn't particularly like what they did with Paradise.

I think it's why I loved their version of NFS: Hot Pursuit.

I, err, really like the fourth Burnout as well. Takedown and Revenge are about as good as arcade racing ever got. And the Crash mode

They ruined Crash Mode in Revenge.

I finished Shenmue II last night and I need a new retro game to actually play.

I want to give my SD2SNES a work out so it's gonna be a SNES game, but I'm not sure what.

Any suggestions? Ideally something that's not one of the obvious picks.

Looks alright. I'll check it out. :D

Magical Pop'N is in the running as well I think.

I love delving a bit deeper into the SNES/SuFami library and trying out titles that you don't always hear people talking about.

It's something I want to do more myself. I've played most of the big obvious stuff, but there are some decent gems hidden away behind region, language or price barriers. Sometimes all three.
