Spent £19 on a box of stuff and kind of know its not worth it... I got a PS One with genuine power supply and TV lead, A none functioning PS2 , 2 official ps2 memory cards, two ps2 TV leads, a brand new ethernet cable and a generic dual analog usb pc pad. They were completly honest that the PS2 didnt even turn on and thats exactly what I wanted a project to occupy me and give me a puzzle.... the big problem the puzzle took me like 15 minutes to sort out , basically loose connections I have now sorted it out and it turns on and it had the little bonus of having a really good condition disc copy of Burnout Revenge inside it. Now to check the PS one and make sure if it works, if it works well thats nice, if it doesnt work I have a chipped PS1 which has a really iffy CD lens which semi works semi doesnt, so I guess I could drop a PS1 drive into an original PS.

I've been up until 2am most days play fixed Tetrisphere which I got in good condition with a manual for £5 at the flea market.

I'm also tempted to pic up Croc 1 for PS1 if only because it's not a re-release with horrible boxart.

Good as the games are usually totally gooseberry fool. There was Mission Impossible and Bio Freaks for N64 as well but I think I'll pass on those. Fighters rarely hold up and third person action games definitely don't, unless it's Sin & Punishment. And the reviews are pretty poor.

Fun Fact: The voice of Croc is Jonathan Aris, best known for playing Anderson in Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch version)

Managed to grab a cart of ChessMaster for the gameboy today for £1 , not the most thrilling game but always good to get a gameboy cart.

I got a black N64 pad today for 50pence, and a playstation power lead for 50pence. I guess that lead can now go with that PS2 I repaired.

Where do you get this stuff...50p for an N64 pad is insane.

I got the N64 pad from a branch of the charity shop lighthouse, theyd thrown it in a big box of wires and power packs and random electricals which had 50Pence an item written on it. I thought it was pretty crazy so grabbed it straight away. Most of the box was just old scart leads and random power adaptors.

Nice find, first thoughts it was replicate but I can easily see one ending up in a pile like that.

Both my N64 controllers are pretty poor now, my partner's GoldenEye gold one is good but I still struggle to play a game like Smash with it's massive travel.

Really got into Tetrisphere over the last week or so, completed the first mode of single player so far but I say completed.. after the credits roll the bastards throw in an episode 6 (no idea where it ends) where you can only get multipliers using the most difficult technique which I had misunderstood completely the whole time.

It's really great game, surprised for just £5 as I get bored of pretty much any puzzle game than Tetris pretty fast, and it's such a fresh spin on it I think it's a real hidden gem. Worst thing is probably the most is really dated, it's like Burnout 1 but awful and years before even that, lots of Casio sounds and pale imitations of Prodigy but you can turn it off and just the SFX are fine. The SFX also give you very good cues as to what is going on and what valid moves are so it's much easier to zone into and not think too much which is good for relaxation.

So this is pretty swell! My Life in Gaming just released an excellent mini documentary covering Tom duBois, the man behind much of Konami's western boxart from 1988 to 1994 (various Contras, Castlevanias, Mystical Ninja etc). I always thought Konami games of that era easily had the best westernised boxart, so it's great to put a face to that work finally. He seems super humble and down to earth, nice to see him getting recognition :)

Well, most artists are humble given that they are constantly being told how talented they are while everyone including themselves quietly wallows in self pitty and a fair amount of poverty at some point.

Sort of retro I guess I got another Wii Today for £30, from a silent auction for charity

All the wires, 2 official wii-motes, 2 official nunchucks, a wii+ add on , wi sports, wii sports resort, Super monkey ball banana blitz, Ratatouille, my fitness coach, family trainer, tiger woods 09 , deal or no deal (all games are boxed with manuals) and a loose disc for wii play.

Really not sure if I should have grabbed it , dont really need it but just wrote down a number I thought was ok and would help charity if I won but expected someone else to win.. either way I guess it made some money for a good cause and it never hurts to have spare wii motes.

Just don't leave batteries in them, the damn things drain them even when they're off - and sometimes even die completely due to some weird low current perpetual charge or something.

I received the latest issue of Freeze64 yesterday... in 2019, the C64 and gaming magazines are both still full of life :toot: .
