Is it possible to have too many Gamecubes? Because I think I'm getting there! Was having a rummage through old boxes of my stuff as my nans and finally found my original Gamecube and the Gameboy player (which was the original reason for going through the box). I have 3 cubes now! At least I have spares...Image

You sure you don't have One Eyed Willy's treasure map in the attic as well?

It's always nice, if circumstances permit, to have a few of your favourite classic consoles, Doom! Are they all different colours?

Yea it's nice just to look at them! I have 2 black and a purple. Might clean up and sell on one of the black ones and look for a white or orange one.

I have a couple of cubes.. I have a black one, A purple one, a silver one and the resident evil 4 one ..... I also have one I got for the games which is really bashed in and looks knackered yet still works well, I think its purple if I remember right but its also highly discolored.

I kind of have the softest spot for the black as its the one I got originally.

Did you buy the Resi version when it came out? The only boxed versions that I've seen on eBay have the game in a sleeve and not in a case. Did they actually sell it without a cased version of the game?

Mine was black, is still black, still works exactly the same. 2001. A lot less could be said about most consumer hardware.

Then again my NES works (although I bought it in March) so hey ho good ol Nintendo. (Not sure how more recent consoles are gonna hold up as more and more complicated.)

When people talk about the expense of GameCube games I'm just glad it was the console I went for and bought loads of games often at launch. And I won't do that again. It's held its value and then some. I take care of my games but I don't know what "acceptable" condition means really. Obviously mine have wear over the years but some are in very good condition I'd say. So I'm happy. I recently got back rogue leader in fair condition and the only one left is luigis mansion. However I traded them on here for Twin Snakes which was a no brainier as somebody stole my copy, it literally just disappeared (HM's great Cal endowment that he promptly sold most of). That was very fortunate. Shame I still had to lose two games though.

Burnout 2 is a great game, I got the original at GameCube launch. Picked that up on here after hearing so much about it over the years. The disk is pretty rough but it works, I think it was a preowned game. Actually I'm kind of surprised I didn't get it originally. It's still a pretty tough game. Burnout 3 is laughable in comparison because you just mow everything down. Obviously crash mode is awesome.

No I only got it about 3 or 4 years ago for a really low amount of money, it was just the console, the pad, the wires and a few games. The only two I have in a box is the Mario Kart one and that was second hand, and then I have the box for my original black one.

Almost all of my Gamecube games are in superb condition, as is the vast majority of everything else I bought since then. Its only really the games I owned as a kid and during my early teens that aren't in such great condition.

My Saturn games haven't fared well simply because the vast majority of the boxes were so poorly made to begin with, the outer cardboard often being badly glued in place, that it's only the later releases (in proper DVD style cases) which have survived intact.

Same thing with Gameboy and N64 games, the carts are almost immaculate but the cardboard boxes haven't survived the 25 years + I've had them for.

Bringing it back to Xbox for a moment, went out today and got a another 7 games for £26 or so.

Max Payne 2
The Godfather
Mafia
Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30
Fable
Timesplitters 2
Conker LIVE and Reloaded.

Conker alone seemed to be around £20 - £35/£40 on eBay but got it for £15, so happy with that.
Timesplitters was £2.99 as well so felt I did not bad.

Just waiting on the actual console arriving now.

Gonna have to find some of the more essential games I think.

Jet Set Radio Future is a must, though looking at prices I may need to go for the combo disk with Sega GT unless I want to pay £40+ for it (I don't).
Also looking at KOTOR I/II, Republic Commando, Project Gotham games, Splinter Cell games and Jade Empire I think.

I have copies of JSRF, PGR2 and Jade Empire that I'd be willing to part with.

Cool. Might take you up on some of that. Going retro hunting I'm Glasgow on Saturday so gonna see what I can find in there as well.

Up until recently there was one in Hamilton but noticed it had shut when I went to it on Saturday morning. Was a bit gutted as it had been there for years and was the last game shop left in the town after Game, Gamestation and Grainger Games all left. Now the only place to get pre-owned stuff is Cash Generator which is great if you want a million scratched copies of FIFA and COD in the mankiest boxes you've ever seen. Apart from that there's Asda and an Argos. End of an era.

More on my Xbox spree. Popped in the CEX near my work on my lunch break and picked up a few games for just over a fiver.

Timesplitters - Future Perfect
Rainbow Six - Lockdown
Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike
007 - Everything of Nothing
Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory

It'll be good when the bloody Xbox actually turns up.

TSFP is tremendous fun.

Far superior story mode to TS2, and Challenges/Arcade is very good (though not quite great like TS2's).

No dual tommy guns, objectively worse than TS2

(Also TS2's story mode is excellent!)
