Super Famicom games are usually pretty cheap. You see bins of every game imaginable for sale at conventions. The box art is usually awesome too.

Got the Glasgow Games Market on Saturday for exactly that purpose.

Never really been to one myself either.

I was at Play Expo back in June but I never really paid too much attention to them at that point.

I would imagine that it would be around the same as eBay prices, perhaps a little more to cover the sellers costs/overheads.

I'll have a look though and report back. I think Cora is going as well.

Controllers are a little more yellowed than I would have liked, but that's something I can potentially sort down the road.

Cable length is really short though. Guess it was designed for those tiny Japanese homes.

Had to use my Mega Drive PSU for the moment until my dedicated one arrives but it works perfectly.

It looks great on my CRT as well. The RGB cable I picked up from Retrogamecables gives a fantastic, sharp image.

So up next I'll be (hopefully) picking up some more boxed games for it at the weekend, with an SD2SNES by the end of the month.

I’ve been to a couple of cons over the past couple of years and although cliched the sellers know what they are selling and the prices reflect this. You are generally looking at similar prices to eBay or CeX.

I’ve occasionally seen rarer stuff without a price marked on it meaning you have to ask the price and they could just make anything up.

The only stuff I’ve ever came away with is a copy of Apocalypse on PS1 and a USB NES pad but I wasn’t really collecting at the time.

At least the condition is likely to be better than CEX and you can actually see the item first hand prior to purchase, unlike eBay.

I’ve virtually stopped buying online from CeX after ending up with a few XBOX games without their manuals. They are also notorious for charging premium prices for rarer games with repro covers.

A couple of people I follow on Twitter regularly share pics of what retro stuff their local CeXs have in stock. Most recent example I saw was Thousand Year Door with a repro cover but still full price.

Disgraceful. TTYD is like an £80 game now, too.

I wouldn't buy retro stuff online from them for exactly that reason. I've seen some of their Repro covers in store and (at least on some of them) if does state they are repro's so there's no surprise at least.

But to charge full price for a repro copy of something like TTYD is shockingly gooseberry fool.

I wouldn't mind if it having a repro cover was reflected in the price but to go oh yeah its usually £80 but it has a repro cover and no manual its still £80 is just rubbish.

Charging the same price for a game missing the manual is bad enough but to also charge the same for a game with a repro cover is borderline criminal. They operate such double standards too like a CeX round my way has had a pretty manky looking copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga (£330 by the way ) in their cabinet for a good while now yet they wouldn't take a couple of PS1 games off me as the cases were "a bit cracked".

They need to employ a similar "Mint, boxed, unboxed" grading system like the one they use for older retro games with more modern stuff like PS2, GC and XBOX as surely a game with a repro cover cannot be classed as boxed.

One thing I'll commend CeX for is is you check their website for the trade in value of an item nine times out of ten that is what you'll get in store. I remember my local Grainger Games quoting you a great price on their website which they would seldom (if ever) honour in store.

Depends on the game. If I can get a few good condition cart-only games, or a GameCube game in decent nick, then I’ll be pretty happy.
