Always the Bridesmaid eh.

That final was tense as hell though man. Genuinely thought you had it more than once if I recall.

Out of interest there's only three of the nine winners who still post as far as I'm aware. Myself, Cora and Parksey.

Vince, Falcon, Raze, Jay Mysterio and Dala have all moved on. :(

Were there as many as nine GGGCs? Wow, I certainly wasn’t paying enough attention.

Dala was working for Nintendo a while back I’m sure - not sure what he’s up to now. Faze and Falcon were big losses to the place too - good fellas the pair.

Funnily enough I met up with Jay in Tokyo a few years back when I was over there. It ended with me more or less unconscious in Shinjuku train station at 4am after blowing most of my budget for the trip on booze and Japanese whisky. Great lad.

Yeah, he recently left Nintendo and, IIRC, took up a role at Rare, Cora.

Ten in total actually. Vince won the first two and Dala won the last two.

But Jawa is correct about Dala. Spent a few years with Nintendo before moving to Rare a month or so ago as Community Manager I think.

He's clearly up to his eyeballs in brand new Perfect Dark and Banjo games for the new Xbox.

It's weird how people move on and fade from memory. I remember all of those guys, but I couldn't really tell you much about any of them beyond Dala. I know Jay did loads of artwork for the GGGCs for DML if I remember correctly.

Proof, not that any were needed, that nobody ever remembers a runner up.

One of the harder things I find with more modernish stuff is half the time there is no manual so you end up wondering when you buy something if there is supposed to be a manual in there or not.

That's a pretty good return - Usually the loose 1080 cart in decent condition will set you back a good £5+

Thanks. How much does the condition usually factor into price? Obviously something mint will be optimal but I'm just wondering how much of a detriment scuffed boxes are.

Condition is a big factor in pricing, Sykes. SNES and N64 carts are tough old things but the boxes are easily damaged. As a very rough example, I'd suggest that for a game such as Paper Mario (UK version) on the N64 - which is not particularly rare but much sought after - a loose cart could sell for around £65, a boxed (scuffed, worn) version around £100, a boxed (slightly damaged edges with manual) version around £130 and a mint (superb condition with manual) version around £170+.

Many folk assess their game boxes as being in "good" or "very good" condition but, personally, I find that these assessments rarely match up to my expectations. I'd always suggest looking very closely at any photos of the item and, if you're unsure, request a further photo(s) before agreeing to purchase. Of course, there are exceptions to these guidelines, and - rarely - you'll see a game described as being in "good" condition when it's virtually new. It's a lovely surprise when this occurs! Finally... I'd suggest caution when a game is advertised as "new" or "like new" with very few - or maybe not any - photos to back that up.

If you're looking to sell rather than buy, I'd urge using accurate descriptions and include photo(s) of any damaged aspects. If a collector purchases your item and they feel that the description is incorrect, they could - quite rightfully - request to return the item and gain a refund.

I broadly agree. Anyways, once you're ready to display pics of the goods hit the playas up.

Cheers Jawa.

Drummy, ask and ye shall recieve. Here's the stuff I had time to take photos of earlier, excuse the absolute state of some of these boxes. I've got some GBA boxed stuff and original Game Boy stuff I'll add tomorrow.

I had a sort of retro purchase today a Wii from q charity shop for £5.95 first the bad part it has no sensor bar, no TV wire, no wiimote or nunchuck, it also has the door for the cube pads missing. The good part is it has its charger and its stand but more importantly it has the homebrew channel installed, a 32gig SD card in it, a 32gig USB key in the back of it.

Three more carts turned up today - Michael Owen's World League Soccer 2000, Top Gear Overdrive and PGA: European Tour Golf.

Almost down to two figure cart numbers - hoping to grab a few more before the end of the year!

This past week I also picked up The Incredibles and The Incredibles: Rise of The Underminer both on OG XBOX.

I was going to buy Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex but it was Classics line not original release so I passed on it.

Doing a bit of research on publishers and support for the N64 the other day - around 11% of all N64 games released in the PAL territory were published by Acclaim, a company who once tried to buy advertising space on tombstones to sell Shadowman: The Second Coming.

Also, just under 5% of PAL N64 games were licensed NBA games. No wonder the system struggled with such a complete lack of support!

Were there any N64 games released exclusively in the USA and never released in Europe?
