I would be interested in one at that kinda price, Doom! :o . The trouble is, I'm a bit of a "neat freak" and I wouldn't want a console with marks or scratches on it... :fp: .

Popped into Ninja Game Den in Brighton earlier. Decent assortment of stuff but nothing on GC that interests me or that I don't already have. Tons of cart only SNES games though.

Price watch: boxed copy of MK64 (good condition but not very good or excellent) - £39, cart only copy £24.

£24 for cart only!

I notice you said Brighton though, probably explains the price, can't imagine it fetching the same price up here.

I have a few unboxed N64 games that I assumed were worth peanuts, will have to check how much they're going for on ebay.

So what does a hard mod Xbox do? I seen loads for sale but I don't seem to get my head around what the chip does.

Mine is hard modded. It has extra software on it you can put Xbox games on the harddrive , emulated stuff , and even do stuff like listen to the radio and talk on irc

My Xbox is also hard modded. Has a funky blue light that comes on when I fire it up. :)

I've so many games on it emulated across several retro consoles and arcade games that I'll probably never get to play them all. I did recently sort out my favourite list for the arcade titles though. That took a while.

Just a shame the disc drive is very touch and go. I did have a look at it a while back and I think it's the motor that's borked. Never mind.

Yeah it plays emulators, backups and DVDs without playback kit although I have that anyway. You can manage the files over ftp by connecting it to Ethernet. The emulators run pretty good if a little blurry. You can choose different hardware and software filters though.

The Xbox controller is the closest to a megadrive d pad design as well and the button layout suits SNES games, if a little hard to press. The black and white, forward and back buttons are useful for accessing options.

I have a couple thousand ROMs on there before the great rom purge, I bought it from a friend who did it all up with lights as well.

I think my disk drive has been replaced with the Samsung one.

I think you can also force 720p and of course it runs XBMC. There are better things for a lot of that stuff now but it's still cool.

It all sounds awesome to be fair. One of thsoe things I may get round to tinker with in the future. Proem is it is wuite a faff to mod these days so not the most practical. Especially with the likes of Raspberry Pis out there. Still, may be a fun project!

It is definitely the path of most resistance when it comes to emulating stuff, but would be an interesting project nonetheless.

So my copy of NFS Underground 2 doesn't work. :x

Guess I'll have to order another copy. So much for 'physical media is the best!'

The first NFS Underground does work, however, and it's a lot of fun. Straight forward, point to point arcade racing.

You could always buy a modded one then keep your eyes open for a perfect none modded one on the cheap and swap the cases if the modded one is not to your standards.

I went to a few charity shops today grabbing various films for my daughter who is doing a film studies A level and managed to grab a complete copy of resident evil for the cube for £1 and a complete copy of smackdown vs raw 2007 for psp for £1.

Do you follow their Facebook page? Thing is they post up pics and they sell the same day or the following day! You can also reserve with them by leaving a comment there.

For example recently they had Twin Snakes and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness

Occasionally some stick around rogue leader etc. and some of the more common ones, and that time they had Mario Party 4 or 5 cos it was quite pricey and not to everyone's tastes.

But yeah they always have some good SNES carts and loads of MD stuff. NES isn't bad either.

My copy of 64 sounds like it would match that description, as a rather common game it somewhat surprises me how much people pay for it now.

If you are ever after a retro console they're a good shout as they test and clean them, my NES works fine after a little dusting and cart contact cleaning (I had an NTSC copy of Excitebike as well so got flashing light, which they swapped no questions).

Trade in credit was useful for getting a couple of quid from loads of mediocre PS1 racing games I had stuffing my shelf that I didn't want and would never shift on eBay.

Speaking of the game den I thought some of you lot would appreciate their recent intake of C64 games only cos you hardly ever see images of a stack of them here:

Yep, and packed with more content on a C90 cassette tape than WB's last effort on this generation of consoles.

That is kind of ironic that that was seen as a reboot of sorts for LOTR action games and there it is the very same title on a decades old magnetic system .

I have a pro-quality, triple-shieldes, Ixos Xbox component cable if you're happy to pay P&P for it. PM me if you do.
