Its a blatant Advance Wars clone but an excellent one at that.

One of my favourite PSP games and still occasionally play it via emulation.

I never mind a clone if its a clone of one of the most awesome games you can get :)

Latest pickups for OG XBOX are R: Racing which I understand is kinda like Ridge Racer only with real cars and Medal of Honor: European Assault... that’s if CeX hadn’t put a copy of The Crew: Ultimate Edition for XBONE in the box.

While I appreciate them selling me a £10 game for 50p it’s neither use nor ornament to me since I don’t have an XBONE.

On the rare occasions I buy from CEX I always check the box before leaving the store as they're prone making strawberry float ups. I put it down to a shitty filing system and low-paid staff who don't really give a gooseberry fool.

Lesson learned! I already check the boxes to make sure the manual is there, I guess now I’ll check the discs too.

You are right that it seems the staff couldn’t give a strawberry float like. In my local branch there’s regularly a queue and you’ll see 7 or 8 staff just strawberry floating about behind the counter yet they only have 2 tills on.

Bought a copy of Windwaker from my local CEX. Disc in good condition and come with manual but the box was cracked but got it anyway.

Few weeks later I found another copy with an intact box, no manual and disc a bit scratched up so I replaced the box of the good copy and traded the broken one in with the copy that was a little scratched up.

They didn't want to accept the game because the box was broken. I explained that I had bought it from the same store only a couple weeks before.

She attempted to deny they would of sold the game with the box in that condition but I wasn't taking no for an answer and I got my trade in for it. Took about 15 mins of arguing though!

The cheek. I hate crap like that, someone else probably overlooked it. Might not have the same rights with second hand stuff but if they are taking stuff like snes games now of course a game case from 2002 is going to get cracked sometimes.

I've had a similar issue with CEX where the game is scratched. They'll happily sell people scratched games, but then try to act as if all their stock is mint should you try to trade back a scratched game you bought from them previously.

I rarely venture in there anymore. Not to mention their stock is pretty generic with hundreds of the same old, predictable titles. It's extremely rare these days that you'll find anything out of the norm.

Yea I mean I do go in there and have a browse every so often but rarely buy games from there. I can always get he same games for at least £5 less if I have a look around online. I did recently buy my Xbox One X from there though. They offer a 2 year guarantee on hardware which is quite handy actually.

Other than that, unless they happen to have a game in stock that I've been after for a while and haven't been able to find for a fair price online I don't really go in there. Also NEVER buy anything from them online! :fp:

They pulled that gooseberry fool with me a while back. I bought Watchdogs on PS4 and Lego Batman on PS3 from their website, finished both within the next week or two then went to trade them in at the North Shields store only to be told they were too badly damaged and they couldn’t accept them.

I pulled them up on it pointing out I’d bought the games from them and they were in the exact same condition as when I bought them but they were having none of it.

I took them to a different branch and they took them no bother, they even had a promotion on that day where you got £1 extra per game traded in.

Also recently they wouldn’t take a couple of PS1 games from me as the cases had small cracks in them despite their website posting the disclaimer in the description of PlayStation games that the cases may have cracks in them. They were also hesitant to take a copy of Tomb Raider on PS1 as they thought it was in too good condition and might be a repro... whoever heard of PS1 repros for strawberry floats sake?

Who would repro Tomb Raider, there's tonnes of copies out there so surly a few of them have just been very well looked after , if you could repo you'd repo like castlevania or tomba or something.

I used to have some Japanese PS1 pirates that had been made to look real, printing on the disc full on printed covers etc , it was funny seeing them sat next to the regular ps1 pirates I had which were just discs with names wrote on in CD pen.

Picked up rogue leader on GameCube at weekend, just a cex purchase, disc is scratched but it works, no way they would have accepted that if I'd taken it in to trade in.

Sounds stupid but I'd love to find path of radience again as mine is in good nick with good disc manual and case but I'd like the Nintendo stars card and other bits of tat you get, if I found one cheap like that then id happily take the bits I want out and sell it to someone on here cheap, I hate people trying to eBay everything and make fat profit, I'd much sooner see collectors help each other.

I used to be in a group of 4 lads who all car booted and hit charity shops and then swaped or sold stuff to each other for basically what we paid plus post, it was great till one guy started asking for £30 for things he had paid £2 for but then expecting everyone else to still let him have stuff for peanuts.

Going to give Jeanne D'arc another playthrough. One of my favourite games ever.
Shame I can't abide any other turn based stuff.

On the subject of collecting what’s that one Holy Grail of a game you’d want in your collection? Having recently started collecting for the OG XBOX for me it’s Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.

CeX sell it for £70 if they ever have it in stock that is and like hell am I paying that much. I’m gonna hit a couple of conventions next year and keep an eye out for a copy, sub £50 (ideally sub £40) complete in box and I’d maybe bite.

EDIT: I used to own Radiant Dawn on Wii, what does it go for these days?
