That’s some good prices on those XBOX games. Black is a fiver at CeX and you might not even get the manual.

Can you do a lad a favour and take some pictures of the N64 and GameCube stock you come across? Ta.

Sure thing, I’ll FB message you. If you reply quickly enough, I can pick anything you fancy up and send it down the road.

Just out from the market and got most of what I was looking for. I'll post the haul when I get home but spent about £90 on mostly boxed stuff. Never looked at N64 stuff Drummy, but everything else was in line with what I expect to pay on eBay. Worth going though when it's down your neck of the woods.

Definitely get the early entry tickets as I heard a couple of traders say they sold out of certain things (Think it was N64s) in 20 minutes.

They didn’t have a whole lot of CIB stuff in the condition I know you’d be looking for mate, I got a couple of pictures from one seller but it was tough to get in there with the camera.

Thoroughly enjoyed that - added four games to the cart collection. Taking the wife was a good idea as she more or less physically held me back from getting more as well.

Batman of the Future: Return of the Joker
NBA Pro 98
Taz Express
Tigger’s Honey Hunt

So here's my haul.

Image

Super Famicom games made up the bulk of the cash spent, but they're all CIB. Yoshi's box wasn't pristine, but good enough for my needs. SFIIT was almost perfect apart from some warping of the cardboard, but it was minimal.

Gradius III is as close to Mint as I've ever seen a second-hand game. At one point when I was taking the cart out at home I thought it might have been an unsealed "new" copy, that's how nice it is. The cart itself had some minor yellowing in places so that made me feel a little better strangely.

But Yoshi and SFII Turbo were the two games I was going in actively looking for so I'm glad I managed to find both. Gradius and DKC2 were both happy accidents. Everything else was an "ooh I want that".

It wasn't till I got home that I noticed Rogue Leader was the US version though. So I'll need to either softmod my GC or pick up a freeloader. It does go well with my NTSC copies of Rebel Strike and Wind Waker though.

My final point would be that I didn't see any boxed SFC copies of Super Metroid. One place did have a loose cart for £22 but I'm dead-set on getting a boxed copy for it. So I'll be on eBay for that at some point.

Brilliant! The art on SFII and YI is genuinely amazing too. Did you manage to haggle any of the prices down? I basically got NBA Pro ‘98 for free from the seller up the back left of the hall by chancing my arm. :shifty:

I’ll get a pic of mine up as soon as I can host it properly.

Currently also trying to get a decent picture of the entire N64 cart collection but trying to get them all in frame has been...difficult. :slol:

Didn't do much haggling but the top row (NES Controller, Sonic 2 and Grabbed by the Ghoulies) were £4 each or 3 for £10.

RL was £14 I think, Super Donkey Kong 2 was £8, SFIIT was £18, Yoshi £20 and Gradius III £32.

There's probably loads of stuff I missed, but it's really hard to get a good look when there's loads of people crowding the tables. Definitely the right plan to go earlier before it gets really busy I think.

OK, here we go. Today's purchases:

The whole collection, in three pictures:

And finally, a picture of all the N64 boxes I currently own.

Image

Excuse the mess at the top of the pic, my wife's photography equipment currently occupies the table I've used to take the pictures and I've just chucked it on the floor for the time being. :slol:

It's starting to look pretty solid now, I think.

Nice stuff Cora.

You should look into the plastic box protectors you can buy online. Got all my SNES, N64 and Game Boy games in them and they look great.

Guy on eBay I got them from does bundles of 10 for £10 I think. Non standard boxes cost more (Pokémon stadium is a good example) but thats understandable.

I've gotten back into the habit of making youtube videos.
I plan to do edited lets plays for classic games and the like so I thought I'd share it here.

I'm getting to grips with it bit by bit. Hopefully I can make later parts better.

A few of the boxes are in those protectors, but in a lot of cases they were bought from eBay and are past the point where a box protector would be of any use.

Overall though, pretty good haul for both of us I think. Do you reckon you'll head along to the two day event in June?

Play Expo? Yeah I'll head along to that again. Went to the one last June and it was decent. The trader area is smaller than yesterday, but still plenty of variety and it was a little quieter because there's far more going on. They've got arcade and pinball machines set up, as well as retro consoles and computers. There's modern stuff as well so you've got a bigger and more varied crowd, especially in terms of age.

But yeah I think we both did well. Certainly looking forward to the next one.

Were you lads up at the Glasgow market this weekend? I fancied it but didn’t go. If I can get a decent way to hook my n64 up to a HDTV I’ll be all over it!

I'm going to be getting one of these as soon as I can (Probably after Christmas).

https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/SUP ... HDMI-CABLE

It's not got all the features of the UltraHDMI mod, but it's much cheaper and it also works on SNES, Super Famicom and GameCube.

Ohh! I might pick up one of those cables. Ultra HDMI is too expensive for me.

My n64 power supply is a bit iffy. It has some movement in the big plastic block and it sometimes just goes off (I think it moves and breaks the connection). Is this a well known issue? I could buy a replacement psu, but don’t want to in case that’s not the issue.

I would bet its the PSU, personally id replace it , as far as I know theres no known issues like that with the N64 so a power supply issue sounds like the most likly cause.

I'm with Kerr in that it's probably a PSU issue.

But Retrogamingcables are one of my go-to site for stuff like this now. Good quality cables and i've never had any issues.

The picture from my Saturn and Super Famicom are stupidly sharp. :D
