I grabbed a few bits and pieces from a pawn store today. I grabbed MX Superfly complete for the GameCube for £1, International Superstar Soccer cart only for the SNES for £2 and 3 original Xbox games for 50pence GoldenEye Rogue Agent, The Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay, and Midway Arcade Treasures.

Tasty little pick up there! I find those kind of stores a bit hit and miss. A local one to me is trying to sell a US version of Fire Red and Leaf Green on GBA for £40 each unboxed. I said to the manager that was steep. He said he was struggling to move them so decided to reduce them to the price he bought them at which was £20 mind you.

All the Xbox chat over the past few days inspired me so I managed to score one on eBay.

£41 (£52 with shipping) for the system, a pad and 34 games. Some good ones in there as well, with little only a few I think is out and out trash. Got a couple of doubles though.

Doom 3
LMA Manager 2005
Spider-Man 2
NFS: Underground 2
Shadow The Hedgehog (x2)
Medal of Honour: Frontline (x2)
FIFA 2003
Ghost Recon 2
Full Spectrum Warrior
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
GTA: San Andreas
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Total Club Manager 2004
Turok Evolution
Wrestlemania
FIFA 2004
Halo 2
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
Ghost Recon
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Unreal Championship
Defender
Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun
SSX Tricky
Commandos 2: Men of Courage
Shark Tale
Hitman 2
Reign of Fire
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Matrix: Path of Neo
First to Fight
Tony Hawks Underground 2

Gonna have to find some of the more essential games I think.

Jet Set Radio Future is a must, though looking at prices I may need to go for the combo disk with Sega GT unless I want to pay £40+ for it (I don't).
Also looking at KOTOR I/II, Republic Commando, Project Gotham games, Splinter Cell games and Jade Empire I think.

Trouble is the margin most high street places need to make on trade-ins is about 100% as they're also buying and maintaining stock that won't shift for months, but can be a lot less on more expensive items like consoles and rare games.

The one here beats CEX prices by about 10% sometimes more so it's hard to argue with that.

A great price for all that! I bought PJR 1 and 2 for 50p each in CEX same as the Splintercell games. Heck out the original Forza Motorsport game too. That games awesome plus I also really enjoyed FIFA Street games too.

Yea that true. I think the problem was they bought those game at close to the average price anyway. That's pretty good if you have one willing to compete. The ones round here don't seem to bother I think CEX has a lot of market dominance round here.

I find CEX quite good for things like Wii U games that usually come mint because nobody but collectors buy them but a lot of other stuff is pretty gooseberry fool.

I visit sometimes but pretty much go straight to the independent because they have about 1000 more things I could give a gooseberry fool about. I don't mind paying more for retail convenience and the opportunity to chat and check condition etc, I've bought things in less than impressive condition just because it's cheaper or about the same as paying postage and I want to get the game not spend 10 hours comparing condition and losing bids on eBay in the last 4 seconds to some banana split that's going to resell it anyway (ever looked at how many bids you lose on ebay are obviously traders, pretty sure my 360 sold to one as well).

The pawn store I go to really really beats cex almost all of the time, only downside is it's darn busy with people trying to flog utter rubbish in. I have to admit though my experiences with CEX haven't been too bad at all especially considering how much some people knock them.

With all this original xbox talk, i still have my Steel Battalion game/controller stored away in my parents' loft and would be open to selling it.

If you hang onto it I might be able to take it off you in a few months. With Christmas and a wedding coming up I can't really justify any more non-essential spending for a bit.

No problem, it's sat up there boxed up for years, a few more months won't hurt. Depending on where you are the postage might be a bit steep, mind.

I have copies of JSRF, PGR2 and Jade Empire that I'd be willing to part with.

I'm putting together a wishlist of must have games for the xbox. Anyone have any other suggestions? I have KOTOR 1 and 2, Forza Motorsport, Ninja Gaiden and NFS Underground 1 and 2 on the lost so far.
