Anyone interested in it?

If it's mint and complete with all the manuals etc you're looking £120+

So finally we have a GameCube game that potentially costs more than the console at launch, making it join the ranks the likes of the venerable and not at all awful Saturn.

Sold my copy of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (DS) for £75 yesterday, same buyer also bought Portait of Ruin for £48 and a few other cheaper DS games.

Think they spent nearly £250 in total.

I'm seriously considering offloading all my retro stuff and just replacing with the mini ones. I love having all of it, but more to just get out and look at and then lock away again.

I'd suggest caution before acting out that thought, Ad. I know that retro gaming gear takes up space and it's hard to get it all set up but, once you've sold it, it will be hard to recoup it if you ever changed your mind.

I know that clearing stuff like that out suits some folk, but maybe it'd be good to really think about it before just doing it. If, after three months, you feel the same way then, cool, go for it :-) .

I'm only selling my retro stuff because I can't physically play most of it anymore, the few things I can still play I play via emulation.

I got Wii sports resort the other day for £1.50 and it also had a Wii sports disc in it behind the manual.

On the subject of chibi robo darn glad I got my copy years back for around £30, its a good game but wouldn't want to be paying over £100 smackers for it.

Like others I've been considering getting rid of stuff. I have some good things that might go for a bit of money.

I'm not really sure how to go about it though.

The first course of action is to offer them up to folks here at mates rates. Then go the eBay route.

I know, I have moments of wanting rid and then waves of joy when I even see things like my gameboy again.

Still half regret selling my n64 on here, not least becuase I sold it for peanuts.

Yeah I even regret some trades/sells I did on here but not as much because I knew they went to other gamers and not scalpers/2nd hand shops to punt again at a higher price. I'm not a huge fan of diehard collectors that never play games either (which is somewhat ironic, but I really do play even my retro stuff once or twice a week). All that sealed and verified super-sealed gooseberry fool.

Also ebay/PayPal fees are a dick and not necessary if you trust someone. And if someone does screw someone else on here they really do get banned.

eBay don't give a gooseberry fool, they just create a new account.

Always stings when I think about the time I traded in my N64, 4 controllers, memory expansion, Gameboy add on for the controller and a decent selection of boxed games including OoT, Pokemon Stadium, Mario 64 and Pod Racer for a Gamecube and Rogue Squadron 2 on release day.

Stings even more that I got £90 for the lot at Game! Didn't even cover the cost of the system! :fp:

To be fair I was only about 10 or 11, didn't know better and wanted the new release...

I've probably traded in about 5 games in my life, even the shitty ones. I've sold a few. I've actually lost more due to "mysterious or ridiculous circumstances".

Such as my copy of MGS Twin Snakes disappearing (probably stolen), which I replaced by swapping Luigis Mansion for it on here (yeah... that worked out well for me). But now I want Luigi's Mansion back (I may as well get it on 3DS instead).

Metroid Prime vaporised, but only the disk. So now I have two cases.

Lent Jurassic Park for GameBoy to a "friend". They made up some gooseberry fool about a teacher confiscating it (yeah the cartridge, not the gameboy, just the cartridge :|).

Brother threw away loads of N64 and GBA boxes I had flatpacked (and all my GameCube hardware boxes and inserts) because it was "just a bunch of cardboard" (knowing full well I had very deliberate reasons for keeping stuff. It used about a cubic foot of space in my own strawberry floating bedroom cupboard, bothering no-one).

Thankfully avoided an absolute disaster by getting back a slip case of about 12 GameCube games (almost all the multiplayer ones including Smash, Doube Dash, F-Zero, Monkey Ball, Burnout, THPS3 etc) I lent out at university - which took 3 years for me to recover.

Lost Metal Gear Solid for GBC, no idea where it went. Now goes for £60+ boxed in good condition and only shows up about 6 times a year.

All that said, my copy of Banjo-Tooie lost in my mate's attic after a swap for OOT for the past 18 years, was replaced boxed and complete by Denster for SS 2017

So a guy at work was moving away and was selling a lot of his stuff, including his kids 3DS XL in a bundle with a fuckton of games, most of which I didn't give a gooseberry fool about, but also included Pokemon X, Y, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (sealed!).

I went through the games to check they worked and see if there was anything on there worth nabbing. Turns out he's played them all for like an hour each, catching about 10 pokemon. I think the most one had was 27.

I had a chuckle at the idea of this kid literally buying every single game of the last two gens to make sure he definitely didn't like it, but I especially liked that the Ultra Moon was sealed and he'd clearly bought it and then not even bothered opening it.

Was chatting with the Dad about it today and I mentioned that it was funny that one was still sealed. And he goes;

"Yea, we were pretty angry with him about that. Don't like the consumerism in him. Still I was really glad he played the other ones so much"

:slol:

Hmm, I might do this, got a bit of time next week, and the money could be handy as I want a new instrument soon. I take it PayPal is method of payment for most folks? Do you all send stuff by registered post?

Sorry for asking so many questions

Yes and yes. If you put a list of stuff you want to sell in here or the trading post it’ll probably go quite quickly. :D

Also don't be afraid to specify regulars only. Reduces the chance of someone turning up and ripping you off.

Almost certainly asked before but is there anywhere more reputable/less risky than ebay for getting GBA games online?

GBA carts are hard work in general, a fair few I see in my local cex are fake, good enough looking to pass the casual eye but obviously fake if your used to looking at them a lot. I have even seen a lot of fakes in two of my closest Indy stores.

This guys really good. Does a fair few conventions and shows with his stall too. Very helpful too if you're looking for anything in particular!
