My Q broke in transit from Japan. I've heard it's a relatively easy fix, but I was bloody gutted when it happened. Something to do with the innards being on plastic shelves that get brittle over time.

Man, i wanted one of those so badly when the Gamecube first launched. It was region free as well wasn't it?

Yea, I found one in Japan when I lived there. It was dirt cheap too, I think about thirty quid.

It worked too. I think it still does technically, but the innards are detached from the outer casing.

I'm gonna fix it all at some point.

For £30 you literally cannot go wrong. Such a wonderful design. Hope you get it up and running

I got mine in Hard Off in 2013. It was admittedly the only one I saw in two years, but for the price it can't be rare.

It was also sold as seen, so maybe it being working was a rare treat.

If you have a regular n64 and want a Jap one keep an eye on eBay you get cheap ones which are units only no wires or power supply etc and then you can use all the bits from your UK system, if you get some tabs off on the inside it will play american games as well.

I second Jawa's remarks! Only got into the og Xbox recently. It'd an awesome platform and mercifully cheap to collect for! Would love to see your collection

My peak collecting time was between about 2007 and 2011 and that was a great period for picking up PS1 and N64 titles, as well as building up my OG Xbox set. I used to have those systems setup and play on them but, in these subsequent years, they've languished in cupboards as I've focused upon playing on more recent consoles. Space is at a premium and I currently have just my PS4 and Switch in action in my "gaming area" (a desk), plus my Wii and Wii U in the living room.

I grabbed a few things today The incredible for GameCube complete for £1 , Wrestlemania x8 for GameCube complete for £1 and kick off for NES cart only for £1.50 , it seems like a long time since I've got a NES game that cheap.

I play my retro games roughly once or twice a week but I spend far too much time on the Internet and not doing work so would probably play games more in general if I didn't do that.

Just picked up some N64 cartridges from the indie store in town, Mission Impossible and Goldeneye
£18 for the pair.

I also got a new video cable for my N64 during the week with a resistor soldered into it and it makes a huge difference in terms of making the picture less bright/washed out/oversaturated on a modern TV.

Coincidentally I also came here to post about N64 cartridges. My local CEX has Super Smash Bros 64 cart only for £32. Not sure if that's a good price or not. You got that one Cora?

Well my Duke controller arrived from CeX today... at least it would have done if an S hadn’t turned up instead. I’d return it but the S is £4 more expensive than the Duke so they’ve actually robbed themselves.

I dread to think how badly Mission Impossible has aged. It felt pretty dated even on release, probably due to it being in development for so long and games like GoldenEye and MGS taking the spy/stealth genre in different directions. It was a real mesh of gameplay styles too.

My parents actually bought me the game during the summer holidays in 1999. My sister broke her arm so we couldn't do the usual trip abroad, so they let me pick out a video game as consolation. Surely there must have been a better title I could have picked, but I did enjoy playing it over the six weeks.

Some of the ways to complete the levels are really arbitrary if I recall. You can fall missions pretty seemingly on a whim.

I remember really enjoying Mission Impossible way back when, especially the embassy level as I recall.

It's quite possibly all rose tinted glasses of course and I may end up hating it now.

I do, but I’ve had it since the 1990s so I don’t really know about what’s a good price for SSB. I do know that it goes for £60-75 boxes depending on the condition, but I also know that it is not a rare game.

I also got a boxed complete Japanese SNES pinball game for £6 but haven't worked out what it is yet
