I went to a pawn store today and got

Orphen: Scion of Sorcery for ps2 complete for 50p
Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets for ps1 complete for 50p
Destruction Derby for ps1, disc and manual in empty playstation case for 50p
NBA Courtside 2002 for gamecube complete for £1

I remember liking the look of Orphen back in the day, pretty sure I once bought a copy but it wouldn’t play on my brother’s PS2.

Guy at work has a Hard Modded OG Xbox he's going to sell me for £40, including controllers, cables and a Hexen boot disc.
Seems a pretty good price really.

Only as a 120GB HDD but that should be plenty really.

Yeah I like the look of its art style the cover grabbed me, apparently it scored quiet averagly though.

Over the course of its lifespan I owned a decent amount of N64 games. Regrettably, at the time I funded purchases through trade ins, so I probably only have 20 or so left. There's a few I really regret letting go now. Conkers springs to mind.

I'm not sure, though there were a number of games that were either identical or extremely similar to other more familiar titles. So for example you'd have Pac Man, but the colours would be different. Many of the games had really basic titles on the menu screen as well. For some reason a game involving shooting ducks sticks in my mind. Like the early precursor to Point Blank.

Also - anyone got experience of cleaning up N64’s cartridge connectors? Some of my games are manky and don’t come on. I’ve got some electrical contact cleaner. Any idea if that will help with a wee bit of corrosion? Got a wee fine layer of rust on one or two of them. Coincidentally, the ones I got from
ceX.

In order of aggression

1. Isopropyl alcohol, white Spirit or methylated spirit will all help
2. Slice up a rubber and run it along the pins
3. Glue or double sided tape a piece of 400+ grit sandpaper to a lollypop stick and basically sand off the corrosion
4. Repeat steps 1 and 2

Wd40 and spirit vinegar will eat rust. Try that first.

Just whatever you do, don't cut the pins.

On a related note, I’m about to hit 150 carts and was thinking about marking the occasion with something like a boxed copy of Mario Kart 64. I’ll hopefully get some pics at the end of the month.

WD40 would almost certainly work, probably best spraying it onto a cotton bud rather than directly onto the cartridge, and leave it to fully evaporate.

I'd start with a cotton bud, I often just dampen it with s baby wipe and clean the contacts on the cart, I do it again and again with fresh buds until it comes back clean then use dry buds to dry them off. Its also occasionally good to clean your consoles slot using the credit card trick, if you look me up on YouTube there's a video showing how I do it, I'd post the link but I'm on my rubbish phone just search kerr9000 cleaning you'll find it
