Looking on CEX, they offer £23 cash or £33 voucher for a GameCube copy of Twilight Princess.

Do I get rid of my copy? I have the HD Wii U remaster.....

What I used to do is offer it to friends for a price between cash and Voucher so in this case £28, that way your proberbly making a buddy happy your getting more money than cex would give you, your helping someone else get it cheaper win win.

Just offloaded a tonne of stuff at CEX and game, but donated about 20 pc games to a charity shop (they never have anything good in). Included BioShock, Jedi outcast, half life games, orange box, gears of war, gtr, Colin mcrae 2 - things like that. They barely acknolwedged me :|

Your lucky they barely acknowledge you, they could have gone on and on about gift aid , years ago while unemployed I donated like 12 bags of old clothes, books etc and got told that as I couldn't gift aid it was practically a waste of there time selling it as they wouldn't get much.

Because I have the best wife and she knows me so very well I got the following for my birthday today...

Image

The Famicom will require some modding to get working on my TV's but I was wanting a wee project anyway now that I'm more or less done with fixing up my SNES.

It'll also let me get a Disk System at some point which means original Mario Bros 2, Metroid and Zelda on Disks. :datass:

Image

Some pretty cool A4 game prints. Gonna get some frames and get them up around my room I think.

So after 20 years I finally completed ocarina of time, with 18 hearts as well. Only item I was missing is the big quiver.

Finished it on GameCube, recommend it because it's 30fps running at 60Hz and 640x480 native resolution, so it holds up much better.

I forgot that Nintendo used to finish games why by they just literally stop, and the only way to quit the game is to turn the console off  stops them ever having to technically "end the game" so you can continue from ganon's tower and 100% the game if you can be arsed.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

It looks fantastic and I love the wired in controllers (Though the cables are super short).

It's pretty severley yellowed which sucks, but even with that it's still a nice looking system.

I've been looking at the RGB mod for it and it's going to set me back about £89 for the kit (or £120 to get them to fit it as well) but it means I'll get a super crisp picture from it, unlike my NES which looks like hot trash on a modern screen.
My dad is/was (retired) an Electronic Engineer and this kind of work is exactly what he was great at so I can get him to fit it for me.

Although with the Everdrive, Disk System and games and it's not going to be the cheapest console I've ever worked with, but it'll be worth it I think.

Nice job Gecko.

It still holds up even today.

I replayed it early last year and I still enjoyed every minute of it.

What type of TV have you got your GameCube connected up to? I was thinking of digging mine out again but I have a 4K LED telly and I don’t think it will look great running through it.

Back at CEX first thing this morning, because apparently they aren't able to tell when my wheel is calibrating and decided because it's moving on it's own that it's faulty :fp: Anyway, there was a guy ahead of me trading in his master system with 2 pads, a load of games, a light gun and so on. I felt like just offering him £10 more than CEX would give him becuase it was all in good condition. But i didnt, because I don't want a master system

I play through Wii but in theory GameCube component cable should be the same. Mine is an older mid high end 1080p LED set (37") that still has scart etc albeit with special adapters. A few people nave asked about this, it really is very good. I'll take some snaps and get the model number. It's all down to how the tv handles upscaling.

Of course, composite 240p is awful on 16bit and earlier gens but even n64 is tolerable, RGB can and does solve that as demonstrated by the Ps1 I mentioned earlier.

I know I bang on about them quite a bit, but if you have any interest in playing those older Nintendo consoles on a modern TV I cannot recommend the RAD2X cables enough.

https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/SUP ... HDMI-CABLE

It's not cheap (£47.99), but one cable will work on AV Famicom, SNES, Super Famicom, N64 and Game Cube so the more of them you have the more value it is. It will automatically take the best picture it can from the system (RGB in most cases, but Composite for AV Famicom and N64 without mods) and doubles it to a 480p HDMI output. It looks fantastic and works flawlessly. It's something I would definitely recommend, especially as more and more TV's lose native support for SCART and composite.

Are there any sites out there which I could use to value retro titles I own? Just like a generic sort of "this game usually goes for £X" nowadays, which I can use to see what sort of amounts I'm sitting on (not literally).

I'm probably moving back to the UK in the spring and half-tempted to just have a massive clearout, as I'll be moving into a new place with my girlfriend and can hardly take loads of retro titles with me as they'll be a pain to store. My parents will keep them for me but if they are worth something (as a lot of the GC ones are), I'd be tempted to sell.
