strawberry float that, get good at Poker. I mean real good, don't think your weekly Saturday game will cut it. Read a gooseberry fool load of books/material. I bought my first car with the proceeds of 13 evenings worth of online poker.

Setup a simple website with a paypal button.

They pay £1, you send them happiness.

It can't fail!!!!

Happiness can take on many forms, but it's the personal touch that's worth the money.

Technically illegal.

Well, i say technically, but it is.

Fraud? How about before a football match send a letter to 500 people telling them one team will win and send a letter to 500 people saying the other team will win. You can see where I'm going with this.

That is damn impressive but I reckon a lot of people would lose a load of money trying to do that.

Do one of those 'change your name by deed poll for a year' auctions on eBay. Someone on here tried it but set the reserve at £1000, so no-one bid. It'd be good for a laugh.

You've got to have a certain mindset to be good at poker, gotta be good at maths too, for calculating the odds of your hand coming in, potential hands of other players, etc. If that stuff all comes naturally to you fine, but I think it's a hard and boring way to make money, and even if you do everything right there's still an element of chance. I can't understand why poker is so 'sexy' at the moment, it really is a boring game to play 'properly', ie discarding your hand, sitting round after round out until you get a good hand.

I did win a (very small) online tournament once though, god knows how, I really am gooseberry fool at the game.

If you are trying to win a decent amount by gambling try and take a longterm view of it and build up your money slowly. I have around €2000 in my Paddy Power account at the moment but it took me nearly two years of "safe" bets starting off with €10. I normally win around €70-80 a week now but it took a long time betting on stuff with not particularly attractive odds. People seem to think betting is only worth if you get a tip about a long shot where you make a nice profit but mostly lose. Theres sod all wrong with for instance backing Chelsea to beat Boudeaux. Profit is profit.

I've done those bets too but you can still get stung - see england croatia last week for instance... Never really lost big though, worse was last year when I put £200 on Man U to beat Spurs. They won, but it was 1-nil and spurs were all over 'em, could easily have been a draw.

Spurs also lost me a £500 win on an accumulator last year, every other result I'd predicted had come in, they scored against villa with ten minutes left to make it a draw, which is the result I'd backed - and then Villa scored again. Gutted.

I like accumulators...

So every now and then, I put a pound down on the top 8 teams across the 4 leagues to win.

I've won only once over a year period. That was £80 from £1.

I don't do it very often mind.

Sell esoteric crap to gullible New Age nutters online.

For example:

http://www.shamanscrystal.co.uk/category/4/cave-of-healing-crystals?gclid=CLrRmrzB5ZUCFQw2GgodVS0DeA

Amethyst Crystal Bed, 1.2 kilos. Size 13x13x4cms.
These crystal beds are good display pieces but are also good for cleansing and charging other crystals too. Being Amethyst it does not require cleansing, but can be used with other crystals.
This Crystal Bed is Brazilian and was part of a Geode, which has been sliced. Both Sides present clear and purple crystals. The sides green to dark green - a copper residue which of course created the amethyst from pure Quartz silicate.

Price: £33.75

If you believe that sh!t you'll believe pretty much anything.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

If derek acorah can get his own tv show, surely I can make a bit of money out of folk wanting to find out that in a past life, they were joan of arc or whatever.

I believe that the Dept. Of Fair Trading has been looking into this issue.

There's a medium round the corner from my flat. Listing his services, amongst other things his "shop" sign reads:
LOCATION OF PEOPLE (Dead people only)

I sh!t you not.

Poker is great because it is so deep and psychological. Love it, love it, love it!

May be off to a Pub Poker Regional Final if I get a couple more results! *gulp*

It's not that deep and psychological mate. I read a book called Poker Nation, a history of the game full of interesting characters and anecdotes, definitely worth a read - towards the end of the book, there's a US poker pro who swears blind that he gets so bored when he's playing that he cut a hole in the pocket of his trousers so he can jerk off while he's playing - I'm not talking about an online tourney either, this is a face to face meet.

Well, I like trying to read players when I play, so we'll agree to disagree.

Ah, take no notice of me, I just like to throw that anecdote about wanking into the mix whenever the opportunity arises. I know that playing the game's a lot of fun when you're winning! Just didn't happen enough with me...
