I started this at the weekend because it was coming up in a lot of Giant Bomb’s GotY discussion. Really liking it, but the combat is a bit simplistic right now, especially having been playing Sekiro recently.
Not sure if I can continue right now, between it and Sekiro and now Nioh 2 Remastered out soon it might a bit too much samurai for me in such a short space of time, but I’m excited to sink my teeth into it when I get to it.
i went from GoT -> Sekiro which was fine, but yeah the other way around + Nioh might be overkill. the combat gets much more complex so dont worry there
Nioh is in its own realm when it comes to combat and doesn't really compare to GoT and especially Sekiro >,> I loved the combat in GoT because of how much it feels an extension of yourself and your abilities. Parrying actually makes sense and is much more satisfying when you have more options to counter with. It never felt repetitive like it did with Sekiro for me. Once you unlock stances it can be pretty overwhelming at first but mastering each one feels amazing when you learn to seamlessly switch between them.
Started playing this tonight on PS5, good so far, I love the way it feels like you watching a classic samurai film. Game looks amazing (the way the grass moves in the wind) looking forward to putting more time into this over the next week
