A very enjoyable mix of activities set in one of the most elegant open worlds on PS4. Ghost of Tsushima does nothing particularly new but it does it all to a high standard.

Finally upgraded my weapons and armour. Had a crazy amount of resources saved up too so it feels like going up from level 1 to 7 lol. I also have like 11 skill points banked which I need to get to using at some point. I just don't wanna feel too overpowered near the start of the game. Got Heavenly Strike too which has an awesome questline.

Completed this earlier. Exceptional game, I'd easily put it on par with the Witcher 3 base game. The only other Sucker Punch games I've played were everything they put out on PS3 onwards and this is on a whole other level. The main story was fantastic and some of the stuff in the supporting character-specific quests was excellent (but one had one of the grimmest things I've seen in a game in a while :dread:

). They've obviously used a real actor for the main villain (football coach from Glee(!) :lol:

) and I'm guessing they did it for most of the other main cast too given how good the face models and voice acting is. Also, I don't think I've ever taken so many screenshots while playing a PS4 game as I did with this.

I've done all the side missions for the supporting characters and villager quests so all I've got left is the remaining question marks on the map to uncover. Might as well go for the platinum since it doesn't seem too time consuming and I've done a lot of the work already since I went out of my way to reveal most of the map as I played. Handily when you complete all the Mongol outposts it reveals the entire map.

But yeah, easily a top 5 game this gen for me. If they add in a NG+ mode and they get it running at 60fps on PS5 then I'll totally be doing another playthough.

im enjoying it too but it does feel a little samey so far... i hope it doesnt get old because some of it is genuinely stunning. also i keep thinking R2 is heavy attack (Souls i guess?) and throwing kunai at everything randomly :fp:

the grimmest detail i found was a tree... im not going to go into detail but is that what you saw Maf?

Finally got this today. Wanted to plat first 10 hours on Kurosawa mode but that quickly got abandoned as its pretty hard to tell what’s going on. I like the combat though I fear I may have the same problem with an overly cluttered screen to focus on the game. Visuals are nice but when there’s so much gooseberry fool flying around it all just becomes a muddy mess.

No it was something towards the end of the quest line for the warrior monk.

Must say, this looks astonishing.

Yeah this is pretty amazing. Legit haven't been gripped by a game like this since TLOU.

The opening hour especially is just wonderful.

played for about 3 hours tonight and its so much fun :lol:

i go full stealth when i take over a Mongol camp, smoke bombs, firecrackers, diving assassinations :datass:

does anyone else just rock up and stand-off immediately?

I prefer consistency with an art style than forced variety. That's not to say GoT doesn't have variety tho. I'm still in act 1 and taking my time exploring. Haven't felt like the game has been feeling repetitive with the visuals like I've seen a lot of people say.
