I definitely like films or TV series that are atmospheric rather than gory. Stuff like Ring, The Grudge, Dark Water, Haunting of Hill House. The Haunting is my favourite horror film of all time and I loved The Others.

I don't tend to to find horror books scary anymore though as a kid I used to love being scared by the Armada Ghost Books

Ghost Watch absolutely terrified me as a kid. Living in an old house with noisy pipes didn’t make it any easier, and I vividly remember hearing cats fighting beneath my bedroom window that very night of the programme.
That YouTube video, the guy said some kids ended up with PTSD. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if I suffered with that.

But, that being said I love horror movies. Not really into gory horror, more your John Carpenter atmospheric type of movie. Prince of Darkness, very spooky.
Also remember watching some great videos on that Dr. Terror season. Vamp, The Gate, loved them.

I remember being scared shitless by Strange But True on the telly. I was a sensitive child. :slol: Generally, I really struggle to watch anything horror. I remember once trying to watch a film, I think it was called It Follows? That was a mistake! Couldn't finish it and had to turn it off half way through.

Anyone remember that Ghost Watch programme BBC did years ago which caused actual panic as people thought it was real!

Ghost Watch was a marvellous hoax. The fallout once it aired was hilarious

That intrigues me, what's the gist there? What kind of show was it and what was the fallout you speak of?

It was a fake documentary shown on Halloween and was done pretty well. There were 30,000 complaints from concerned and scared people. It's never been reshown on TV but is available on DVD. It's a shame you can't go in 'blind' as that was the best way to experience it. It hasn't necessarily aged well but I still enjoyed watching it again a while back

Whilst round at some friends of my parents, I watched Halloween waaay to young ( I was probably about 9) , and also a Hammer horror "The House that Bled to Death" at the same time. Both troubled me for years, but having been back to watch them both since then, I think I've laid the ghost to rest.

I think I'm way to easily freaked out to watch proper horror now, but I don't mind gory sci fi like The Thing and such like.
