I know a lot of people rate the first film as being the better one but my fondest memories are of the sequel, of the slime and statue of liberty. I thought Viggo was a better villain than Gozer and who doesn't love Rick Moranis?

Ghostbusters 2 the song On Our Own is brilliant andi prefer it too Ray Parker Jnr's which is still a great song. But the cinematography in the first film is flawless and certain music cues set up some scenes brilliantly.

The cinematography in the first 1.20 of this is scene is brilliant the tracking shot at the start the music building the tension that something big is happening the shot of Ecto in the police convoy on the crane shot. And then the shot of convoy going to the front of Dana's apartment building is brilliantly shot

The original is the better film but I have way more nostalgia for the sequel. Viggo and the tunnel of slime still terrify me.

1 is the better film, but 2 is peak nostalgia for me - had the bedsheets and everything. That counts for a lot as you get older, I've found.

Vigo is creepy as hell and but the ending fight is kinda rushed. One thing what hampered GB2 was the studio interference and releasing it same time as Batman it had a lot of competition that year. I would love it if they was too release a directors cut of GB2 with deleted scenes in it like the full Ray Possessed driving sequence for one. So many cut footage which still has not seen the light of day though some did get released a year so back for the first time.

First one is much better, but 2 is still great. I never got the hate for that movie.

I've seen a lot of people complain about Venkman in 1 lately. About his behaviour towards Dana.

1 is better but I never really got the hate for 2, it's still a very entertaining movie. The guy from Ally Macbeal is strawberry floating annoying though

This was a cool scene from GB2

The sky changing effect here was also very good and scary

Absolutely no denying that the first film is the better film in almost every way, but Ghostbusters 2 will always be my favourite. I was 9 when it came out and remember seeing so many adverts for it on the tv, particularly a food advert which I think was something like pizza hut or kfc. They kept showing slimmer topped drinks cups, and the ad would end with Ray saying, "What a ride". As you had to wait a long time for things to be on tv then, I probably didn't see it for a while, but I did open a Ghostbusters training school in my bedroom  I drew a sign with the 2nd film logo and everything 8-)

It's like raiders of the lost ark V last crusade. Raiders is an almost perfect film, but I'll always prefer crusade. Same with empire V jedi, empire being the best film but I just don't enjoy it as much as jedi.

Ghostbusters - 10/10
Ghostbusters 2 - 7/10
Ghostbusters remake - 4/10

G2 is serviceable but every aspect of it is a major step down from the original. The remake was lowest common denominator trash, which was a shame because I do like all the female leads in various other films/shows. Missed opportunity there.

What's interesting is that I actually prefer Temple of Doom to the other 2 in terms of set pieces. The opening sequence in club Obi-wan, the minecart, the rope bridge and the chilled monkey brains I loved as a kid. Don't get me wrong, I also love the other 2 but the 2nd one is just pure adventure.

Considering that the theme track in the original is legendary, I've always felt that the sequel's music was real neat, too.
