I'd say McCarthy is. Wiig no, but it's hard to say how much is her and how much is the material she's given.

Hemsworth is some times great sometimes bad. The overall problem with the comedy is just the quality of the writing isn't there for me, feels like a script written by committee. There's a good amount of humour in it and although the bad outweighs the good it doesn't drown it out completely

Some of the trailers made it look like it was going to suffer the same problem that The Force Awakens had, just a shot for shot remake of the original, but it really wasn't. The whole cast seemed like they were just really enjoying themselves and it made everything work so much better.
Really hope this does well enough to get a sequel, especially after the post credit scene.

Firstly, why would the trailers make you think this had anything to do with the original?

Secondly, how was The Force Awakens in any way a "shot for shot remake of the original"?

Anyway, Metacritic score has dropped to 61 now.

I was still undecided whether or not to go and watch this but I think I'll wait as most of the legitimate film critics seem to have rated it average at best.
