I don't really understand how people could find that advert offensive. It's like being offended by the end of a Disney movie where everything turns out for the best and all wrongs are writed. I guess people might get upset if they recognise some of the negative actions in the video as things they would do themselves but that's their problem. If they're upset by it then they clearly recognise what they do as wrong, otherwise why would they care?

I often ignore things that I fully recognise as not acceptable. People will make casual racist or homophobic comments and I won't call them out on it. Sometimes I will but often I just let it slide because it's too much hassle. Allowing that kind of behaviour to become acceptable and normal will one day have a massively negative effect on someone and it could be argued that my lack of action played some part in that. I also recognise that I'm not responsible for the actions of others and I don't really want to be.

If its main goal is to promote a message and can't risk being focused through the use of accurate terminology (like "some") then it's merely propaganda.

2) If the same would occur no matter how you worded the statement, once again you should reach the conclusion that it would be best to use "some" as not to alienate those who might be open to your ideas, but would feel like they are being attacked if you use blanket terminology.

The field of study would be ‘equity, gender and sexual diversity’.

You’re probably not American, but if you were, do you think ‘Kap kneeling would bother you? Something along the lines of ‘all lives’...?

The message is fine, but it doesn't seem like the place for it.

I disagree. Gillette trade on an image of masculinity in everything they do, from their slogan to their frequent advertising campaigns focusing on men's ability to grow facial hair and do manly things. I'd say they're one of if not the most appropriate brand to be using their advertising space in this manner. For them to take a stand against a quite-insidious brand of nastiness, however cynical and bottom line driven it may ultimately be, is commendable IMO.

Kaepernick was kneeling to protest the police shooting unarmed black people. But he didn't specify that it was some police shooting some black people. ;)

Yes, clearly. I thought the brent.jpg bit covered that but thanks for checking.

I don't understand the reaction to this. Where's that Harrison Ford who gives a gooseberry fool gif when I need it.
