Anyhoo, they REALLY hate women! It’s like feminism turned inside-out, which is sad but, in a way, also funny.

Link to the trouble that was caused, if it’s not too much bother?

Nah, fedora-wearing misogynist isn't censored because it's a slur or anything, it's just for practical reasons (and because I found it amusing).

They sure do, as funny as it is it's a scary movement from that perspective. There are a lot of loud, miserable people telling different kinds of young men that their problems are all caused by women -- "fedora-wearing misogynists", "pick up artists", the awful "MGTOW", "MRA"s, etc. all appealing to men with slightly different problems, with the same philosophy: "it's women that are the real cause of your unhappiness"!

Sure, it's a funny read: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=35397&p=3326381#p3326381

fedora-wearing misogynists, in a classic fedora-wearing misogynist move, Google the word "fedora-wearing misogynist" to pick fights with people who make fun of them. After the first one turned up here to make trouble I thought I'd word filter it. (That and it's funny.)

I really recommend listening to this episode of the podcast Reply All interviewing the young gay Canadian woman who started up a support group for, and coined the term, fedora-wearing misogynists; including how that was highjacked by the people Karl mentioned above.

Oh I completely forgot about that  :fp: Love when idiots just come out of nowhere like that.

Remember the strawberry floating weirdo who had been lurking since 2010 or something like that and was so appalled by racist avatar he signed up for an account just to report it

Alas, if I remember correctly, me being a member of the fundamentalist atheist cult means that he won't listen to me.

But also, I think I read something about female 'fedora-wearing misogynists' and proper, real, 100% serious fedora-wearing misogynists who we should all be treating like the very serious men that they are, don't recognise them because, of course, women can get sex anytime they want. Then there's something about the sexual marketplace, or... sexual market value? Or something?

I'm sorry, I wish I could be more help but my hands are tied by my cult's teachings.

Fedora-wearing misogynist

You know I'm starting to feel bad for people who wear fedoras. No matter what bad thing there is out there, people now associate it with wearing a Fedora. Misogynist? Now Fedora Wearing Misogynist, Internet White Knight? Now Fedora wearing Internet White Knight. Worst of all, weaboo? Now Fedora wearing weaboo. :dread:

People in Bristol are constantly in fear that the sky will fall on their heads so it's probably a comfort thing.

Where in Bristol do you see that? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody wearing one.

The Galleries is where all the swamplife go. :dread:

I will have to keep an eye out in future, maybe Bristol is overrun with fedoras and I have just never noticed.

I work in Bristol and see someone wearing a Fedora every single day. It's a man who works in my office.

Fairly certain he's not a misogynist. Not sure what his views are on the relative ranking of TFA and TLJ in the Star Wars canon.

I will confront him on these important topics at the next opportunity.
