Gin - love it or loathe it ?? Favourite gin ? Favourite tonic ? G+T or dry martini ? Lemon or lime ? Slice or peel ? Olive anyone ? Have you, or have you not, had a James' Bond Vesper Martini ? If you have could you still stand up afterwards ?

Favourite gin - Tanqueray
Drinking at the moment - Jensons
Favourite tonic - Fentimans
Would like to try - Islay gin
G+T must come with a curl of lemon peel - James Bond style !
Martini with a nice green olive on a cocktail stick in a silly glass
Have made Vespers and survived

Any connosseurs experts out there ?

I'm gonna say Gordons or Beefeater, though I only drink it every now and again.

I liek the occasional G&T after a big dinner at a restaurant. I have no preference for brand or anything.

I got absolutely destroyed on gin on my first university halloween many years ago. Even now seven years later (where's the time gone?) thinking about the drink makes me queasy.

Considering it was 99p for a double and mixer in that club I'd imagine what I was actually drinking barely qualifies as gin, but that's beside the point.

LOVE IT.

Plymouth Gin distillery is worth a visit for those unfortunate to find themselves in the city.

Just about to have a G&T now.

Top tip: a slice of red grapefruit cut crossways and slightly squeezed into it before being dropped in makes it absolutely perfect.

I think my favourite is probably Hendricks, ice and slice of cucumber :simper: Fever Tree is the best tonic water I've had but I can get by on less expensive ones.

My nan recently got me a 1L bottle of Bombay Sapphire. d'awww.

I quite like G&T with a bit of elderflower cordial in too, but it's best just as a straight g&t.

Favourite(when I can get it) is -

Image

Everyday favourite - Bombay Saphire
Currently drinking - Tanqueray (but finding it a little sweet)
Favourite tonic - Sshwepps, cos I'm too tight to buy anything posher.
'Acessories' - ice. Nothing else is required. Apart from another one for my other hand.
A G&T does go nice when munching on teeny weeny cherry tomatoes, though.

I love a nice glass of bombay sapphire and tonic although its a tad expensive, especially at my local.

A G&T is the perfect drink for when you've had too much beer and shots, had a bit of a sweaty dance and feeling a bit worse for wear. You stagger up to the bar and ask for G&T and if you're lucky you get at minimum Bombay Sapphire, fresh lime, tons of ice and Indian tonic water from a chilled bottle. Perks me right up.

Of course, what usually happens is a lukewarm Tesco gin with lemonade. Still helps.

You can get it in sachets.... Not really sure why. Apparently popular in clubs rather than pouring shots....

I developed a gin addiction a year or so ago. I've tried many, many gins, from supermarket own brand to small batch, hand distilled spirits, and my favourite is still Tanqueray Number 10. Fever Tree is by far the best tonic and a slice of lime will suffice for most gins. Obviously cucumber for Hendricks and there are others that are complimented well by different garnish (such as orange for Whitely Neil, apple for Chase). I bought a bottle of Portobello Road with the intention of taking up their offer of going to their distillery to concoct my own gin by claiming I didn't like the product, but ended up just driniking it all.
