Just an update:

3 months in, just had a checkup and it's all healing amazingly. I read the bottom line of the chart, there are no smaller letter charts to test your eyes with apparently. Amazing.

Eye drops are down to once or twice a day, sometimes none. (None so far today).

Also - if anyone is thinking about getting this done soon, if I refer you to Optical Express in the next 3 or 4 weeks, you will get £150 off. (I'll get the same for referring).

So...... do it!

I'm actually suprised your still using eye drops. My operation cut deeper into my cornea and I was off eye drops within a less than a month.

Glad to hear all is going well though!

I think I like they way they kind of 'wake you up' so I'm probably using them more than I need to. They give you 'sparkly show-biz eyes' too!

Hello. Just read this thread...thinking my about getting it done...but I am limited to 2k. Do you lot think 2k will get me the best possible treatment. I am thinking of checking out optical express tomorrow. Anyone have recommendations of where is best to go? Thanks

I wouldn't say £2k would get you the best possible treatment. You'd be looking at that per eye for somewhere like Moorfields Eye Hospital.

I've heard very mixed things about Optical Express. Probably worth reading about them in-depth before you start any discussions with them.

I'm gonna do a consultation with them and then see where to go from there. The prices seem to have shot up though. Lime was saying he payed £2000 for the best, now it seems like that per eye. Hmmm we'll see. £4000 is a few good holidays or a car is it worth paying that much just to not wear glasses =\
