If anyone was watching James Bay - My mate, Jack is his keyboard player. Bloke is an absolutely amazing keyboard player.

Props to Libertines. They're not the shambles I thought they would be.

I watched Alabama Shakes and a bit of Motorhead earlier and will be watched the Chemical Brothers on sunday but there's hardly anything else I want to see this year.

Kanye can strawberry float off.

Edit: spotted Death From Above 1979 are on tomorrow, will have me some of that.

Pyramid Stage is a bit pants this year, I'd only go out of my way to see Kanye and Alabama Shakes. There's always a wide enough range of stuff to see that I'd have loads to do there though - just yesterday there was Run The Jewels, Caribou, Jamie XX, Jungle, Everything Everything, Wolf Alice - that's more acts that interest me across the entire Reading weekend this year.

Leeds has a cracking line up this year but I'm really not into Glasto at all. Only the Brothers Chemical really interest me this year.

Line ups are always subjective, but you would have an awesome time if you went to Glastonbury, I have not been to Reading or Leeds for years & years, but they were tiny compared to what went on at Glastonbury. That said my favourite memories of a festival will always be Leeds for the crew I went with, but for the actual Festival it is Glastonbury hands down (But I have not been to that since 2010)

Did enjoy Florence & the Machine covering Times Like these, I would have been crushed if I had tickets, what with the Foos pulling out, still would love to be there mind

Once you get there, you soon realise that the music/stages are by no means the be all and end all. When I was there in '08 I missed 3 acts I really wanted to see but I wasn't remotely bothered, I was in Shangri-la for one, watching a magician for the other, and the third I passed out :fp:

I was watching a bit of this on TV last night, specifically Motorhead. I had trouble making out any tunes, the difference between a verse and a chorus or when a song was about to end. The set ended with some massive drum solo, which to me just seemed like random drumming. Does anyone here actually like Motorhead?

Yes?

Everyone loves Ace of Spades and has no idea about any of their other songs. ;)

Watching some of the highlights I realised that I haven't been to Glastonbury since 1995. 20 years!!

I am really strawberry floating old.

Overkill is a quality track. Although I only know that as Metallica cover it.

What are the crowds like at this, Leeds and Reading? Are they all like for like or do they differ? Just wondering because you'd obviously get different "types" of people at each festival. The first festival I ever went to was Download this month and the best thing about it was the people. Everybody was so friendly and everybody looked out for each other. The atmosphere was just amazing being surrounded by "friends" and being able to speak to anyone as if you'd know them for years.

I always heard that the crowd at Reading was full of assholes but I had a great time when I went there a couple of years ago. I didn't see anyone acting a banana split or being nasty.

I have never been to Download though so I can't compare it.

More people probably know Ace of Spades and the stuff Motörhead have done for the WWE than anything else. I didn't know one solitary song last night. The lead bloke isn't the most talkative of people either, is he.

I think it's pretty much the same all round. Everyone is there for the same reason, to enjoy themselves.

And get wankered.

Watching Wolf Alice's set atm, musically they're really good but I'm unsure about the vocals.
