Still not as excited as I thought I would be. Will probably still buy it on launch.

I think this is where I am.

I only replayed 2018 a few months ago, fell in love with it all over again, and remember saying to myself that even if it's more of the same it would almost certainly be my game of the year. I'm not sure what my problem is.

I think it might be the way so many articles obsess over the father / son dynamic. I'm not a father so I feel like an imposter perhaps. I'm almost certainly not a God either.

Can't wait to play it though.

Why is this coming out on a Wednesday?

After Tuesday releases tried to become a thing a few years back I thought we'd got rid of this midweek nonsense.

Ah yes. I think it has been mentioned why and it was something link with the Norse calendar. So they decided to release it on 9th.

One plausible theory for releasing the game on the 9th is that Wednesday is named after Odin and Norse mythology has nine realms so a release date of Wednesday, the 9th, would fit in with God of War Ragnarok's theme.

I mean, apart from Saturday = Saturn’s Day, Sunday = Sun’s Day and Monday = Moon’s Day, they’re all named after Norse gods. :lol:

Tuesday = Tir’s Day
Wednesday = Woden/Odin’s day
Thursday = Thor’s Day
Friday = Frigga’s Day

So, cheapest place to preorder a physical copy? I've got a voucher for 365, but I'm not sure I trust them any more.

This could be it, can't say I get excited about games releasing anymore that much. In the past few years only Halo Infinite had that 'can't wait to play it' appeal but I'm a huge Halo fanboy and the campaign was indeed excellent. I'm looking forward to Breath of the Wild 2 and Starfield but I'm not like I was back in the day, when Zelda:OoT, Half Life 2 and Halo 3 released I was feverish with excitement.

I'm sure once you get a few hours in you'll feel that tingle of anticipation about what's to come.

I think with me it's more to do with the fact the previous game ended in a hype inducing manner and then I've had to wait a bloody long time for the follow up; there's only so long you can carry a torch for someone or something :P But yes, I'll probably be well into it once I get a ways into the game.

I've got this pre-ordered, but not very hyped. I think it's because it looks very similar to the previous game. Hopefully they're holding their cards to their chests and it's not just more of the same.

To be honest these days you’re probably better just renting it on release until you get through it. By the time you actually want to replay it it’ll be on Plus, or dirt cheap if you still want physical

I ended up going with base.com, which was the cheapest I could find, just under £60. Still think these game prices will bit Sony in the arse eventually, or at least I hope they do.
